Smelly ears are a clear sign of an ongoing ear infection problem. Dogs with floppy ears are notorious for getting very chronic ear infections. Regular cleaning with veterinary approved cleaners can help, but often antibiotics are also needed. When pets continually get bad ear infections despite good at-home care and veterinary medications, a special surgery to open up the ear canals and allow more air flow is an option. It's best to first get an accurate diagnosis and appropriate medications and cleaning supplies before considering any other alternatives

Don't use shampoo, unless it's the outside of the ears that smell. Never get water in your dog's ears. The smell is not really normal. There's a teeny tiny odor that's natural, but a SMELL is not. Perhaps he has an infection. Make sure you see the vet. Good luck!

It is a bad sign if your dog's gog smelly ears.Don't even dare to shampoo it.And see that water doesn't get into it's ears when you are bathing him. Just go to your vet.Remember it can be dangerous if water gets into his ears.Take your dog to the vet atleast once in two months.

I would call my vet and ask if smelly ears might mean an infection of some sort. After you bathe your dog, do you thoroughly dry his ears so that they won't breed bacteria?

It probably has a yeast infection in the ears. If your dog has hair in it's ears it wil become infected and stink really bad. I would take him/her to the vet to get some medicine for it.

not really might want to or not this is an infection yet some canines are challenge to "ear mites". I had an Irish Setter that used to get ear mites each of the time, undesirable component ! They smell undesirable and once you rub the ears they sound "juicy" (yuck). The vet can allow you to already know in the journey that they are mites and there is a medicine for them. A canines ears are literally not formed like ours are interior, so it truly is amazingly confusing to get all a thanks to the bottom of the ear to sparkling them out. Your vet can practice you what to do. in the journey that they are mites please take you puppy to the vet once achievable. they extremely are very uncomfortable for your canines. also, even as on the workplace the vet might want to be able to reveal Sam a thanks to sparkling his ears besides - lol sorry Sam ! besides strong success !

that's a sign of ear mites. Take a cotton swab and gently clean around the ear hole. If the swab comes out with brown or almost bloody looking stuff on it, it is ear mites. You can buy Eradimite on-line to get rid of them.
