About a thousand dollars more or less. The younger they are, the more expensive(about 1 and a half mo to 3 mo) But as they gro old but not yet sold out, they become cheaper (say about 800$)

the price can vary greatly depending on the source of the puppy and the area of the country where you purchase it. because yorkies are the current "fad" dog, there are a ton of people who are breeding ugly, unhealthy, vicious, degenerate yorkshire terriers and sell them to clueless people for $2000+. going to a rescue is great in theory, but these dogs are in such high demand it would take a miracle to find one without serious issues.
if you actually care about the health and temperament of the puppy you are planning on buying, i strongly recommend going to the yorkshire terrier club of americas website and check out their breeder referral section. contrary to popular belief, buying a puppy from a "show" breeder really isn't any more expensive than buying from a back yard breeder, and you'll know that you are getting a healthy dog. what is the point in saving a few hundred dollars on the purchase price and then spending thousands of dollars in medical bills later on because the breeders didn't do any health testing on the parents?
to actually answer the question, i'd expect to pay between $1500-$3000 on a pup.

AKC registered Yorkshire Terrier puppies(6 weeks-1 year) cost about $800-$4,000 dollars. It is NOT true that the older they are the less they cost; not true what-so-ever. I saw a 4 year old male for sale on PuppyFind.com for $3,000. I buy almost all of the dogs I've gotten from PuppyFind.com but I'm not saying that there isn't scammers/puppy mills either. When i bought my Westie pup for $450(he is AKC registered) from a legit breeder that wasn't a puppy mill I was very pleased. (:

In Southern California a healthy pet quality yorkshire terrier will cost $1,000-1,500 from a reputable breeder. Unhealthy ones with cute made up names cost $2,000-$2,500, and then several thousand more in vet bills.

You can probably get one fairly inexpensively from a rescue group. Basically, there are so many unwanted dogs born you can find rescue groups for all breeds of dogs.
I have a client that get a pure bred Rhodesian Ridgeback, 12 weeks old, from a shelter.
