It depends on weather you are buying or selling. You can go to puppyfind.com and get a good idea of what they cost. If you dont plan on breeding or showing then you dont want to pay top dollar for a pet. There are allot of breeders that will sell their dogs as pet only for a reasonable price. Rescues are a good place to look, but 9 times out of 10 they do not have the breed that you have researched and decided on you could also look up that breeds rescue. If you do plan on showing or breeding then you want to look more at the breed standard/pedigree and ask questions about how this you are going to buy meets the standard. In this case you dont want to go cheap. You will want a strong healthy bloodline. If you are selling a pup and dont know what to charge you need to go to different websites on the web and see what they are going for. I have two Chinese Crested that I breed, I live in Ohio and I traveled to Coopers town NY to get him, but he had the certifications and bloodline I wanted.....Same thing with my female.......I drove to SC to get her.

try your local shelter or a rescue. usually those dogs are in desperate need of a home and come already spayed and neutered. and before you do that, make sure you have the money to take care of the dog. plan on 2 well visits a year to the vet, and always keep money on hand for a doggie emergency. premium dog food, crate, bedding, treats, toys, training, etc...if you cannot afford that then please don't get a dog. but if you can and just do not want to spend a lot of money to adopt a dog. go to the shelter. usually the adoption fee is around $100 and includes not only the desexing, but vaccines and sometimes extras.

Remember you get what you pay for. No dog is cheap. They're too precious to be I think. Vet bills, food, general care, etc. Think about whether or not you can provide for this baby before you bring them into an unwholesome situation.
