My sisters dog has heartworm and is being treated for it by the vet, his last shots to kill the heartworms were about 3 weeks ago and he has been doing great. Yesterday he started coughing again and we called the vet and he told us to give him cough medicine. Will his cough go away ?

My neighbor bought a bulldog from someone that claimed to be a breeder. She had never bought one before and didn't know the certain things to ask before buying. So, she bought the dog and didn't receive papers. The dog has a tattoo with what looks like a registry number. Is there a way to use that number to look up the dog's registry? I seem to think that the dog was stolen and this man sold it to her.

I have a doberman who is about a year and a half. He is well trained and very obediant on a lead, or inside. However, when we are outside, once I take him off the training lead (about a 30ft length) he takes off and won't come to me. I've scolded him for it, but he continues to run. I've tried turning my back and ignoring him, and that doesn't work. I've even bribed him with treats, but with no success. I know he understands the commands I am giving him because like I said earlier, he will do them inside or on his training lead. I'm concerned one day he will end up getting hit by a car or somthing.

Im thinking about adopting an adult male weimaraner in which I don't know his past, but is very friendly at the shelter. My concern is that I have 3 cats and wonder if he will get along with them or if it will be possible to train him to. I know they are hard headed dogs.

I did not have my pure breed beagle fixed...he was going to be a stud, but because of medical problems from an accident(drunk driver hit us, he hit the dash, now has epilepsy, and other problems) so we are looking to have him fixed. waiting so long has caused problems with his prostrate, and i am so worried about him going under, and just want to know if anyone else has had a dog fixed when they were older, and what problems come with old age and getting fixed when they are old...thank you sooo much!

I usually don't even see the dead fish or bird - I just notice that she is sniffing at something - and before I can stop her, down goes her head and she rolls over, rubbing her back on the smelly carcass - a revolting habit!

I am looking for a pup that does not cost over $1000. The only ones I can find so far are in different states and I do not want to ship a puppy.

A vet wants $500 to spay my dog... it would have been $300 if she was under a year. Why does it cost more to spay a 1+ yr dog? And isn't $500 expensive?

Hi ok frist i know she's not technically a "dog" but you get what i mean. Anyway i have a Border Collie who is due in about a month. She's in pretty good shape at the moment. But i was wondering how much i should exersie her. We do herding and agility which she's not much of at the moment or acutally almost none. I'm not letting her jump or herd because of her current "conditon" but she's used to working almost all day, so going for a walk just dosen't cut it. If any body has any ideas please let me know.

Also please don't give me any crap about breeding my dogs becuase i WILL report you. I'm being nice here i and expect the same form you. If you don't like what i have to say then just don't read it. thank you for all of your help.
