Yes, my Frenchies love to kill grasshoppers, junebugs, and even mice. Frenchies have been bred to be ratters (kill rodents) and have a prey drive for little animals like bugs. My male Frenchie kills more mice then any cat that I have every seen and one of my females loves to pounce on grasshoppers and junebugs. Just make sure that you do not have any poisons out for the cockroaches to get in, and then you Frenchie to get the cockroaches.

uh.. well.. dogs and cats have the urge to "hunt" small prey.. most of them still have that instinct at least.. I guess cockroaches would count as small prey.. they like chasing things that move fast.
I live in the northwest.. and I have never even seen a cockroach.. but i cant see it being a good idea to let your dog eat them.. maybe call an exterminator? because its pretty sick to have those things in your house.

Yes. he is just having fun.
Your next question is " How do I rid my house of Roaches without buying 25 more dogs?
Answer. Spread Boric acid (powder form) around all baseboards in your home.
That is the only thing I have ever actually seen work.

Yes, it's a natural instinct. Puppies and adult dogs both like to catch such moving prey. Just try to keep him from eating them, they might not be too good for his digestion.

(As a child, our two Miniature German Schnauzers just loved to hunt the wild ant. Think of how a cat will proudly bring you a mouse he caught. Then think of our Schnauzers bringing you the corpses of their kills, and laying them proudly at your feet. Hilarious!)
