I really want to know how to potty train my puppy

I used puppy pads and a lot of positive reinforcement. I would take my dog out every couple of hours (you need to because their bladders are so small that they can't hold it very long) and as soon as I got him outside I would say "lets go potty" (and other such things) and as soon as he would go I would pet him and tell him how good of a dog he was (lots of positive when the dog does a positive thing). When he would have an accident I would scold him if I saw him do it or if I knew it had just been done. If a dog has an accident on the floor and you don't find it for three hours and then you scold him it will confuse him and he will not understand why you are scolding him. So, as soon as they do it then you scold them--that way they understand that they are getting a negative reaction from you for having the accident and they do learn very fast---they will be ashamed for doing it. Scold immediately, using a stern voice (you do not need to yell at your new puppy or even spank them--stick to your guns and be stern). When your dog does go outside or even on the puppy pad, praise him---they will learn quickly and be happy.

The best way I have found to housebreak a pup or a dog is to be with it at ALL times for at least the first three to five days. When the puppy wakes up from a nap and especially in the morning pick it up and say " got to go outside?" Or actually just use simple terms like "outside" and take it out and put it on the ground and watch to see if it goes, if it does then praise it ALOT and even give it a treat of some kind! After playing w/ it for a while do the same thing and after it eats-wait anout 45 minutes then do the same thing!

You definitely need to buy a crate not much bigger than your puppy for when you are not at home. The smaller the space the longer he will hold it.But with it being a puppy that will come with some time.Make sure you take him out every couple of hours, preferrably to the same area each time. When he potties outside be sure to praise him & give him a treat. As soon as you get up in the morning take him out, feed him,and take him again before leaving. We just got a dog in July & it has been exactly 6 weeks since he has pottied in the house. Some dogs learn quickly & some just take time.We both work long hours so it took our Ace a little longer, but it will happen. You just have to have faith, patience,& understanding, and only scold if you catch him potying in the house.GOOD LUCK!!

If you don't already have one, get a crate to put the dog in when you can't be around. When you are home take the puppy out every time after it eats and after you play with it. Put it on a leash and take it to the same place every time you go out. Give the puppy plenty of praise and rewards when it goes outside and scold it when it goes in the house. Eventually it will figure out what pleases you and most and try to do that. You have to take it out often in the beginning but the puppy will catch on. Be persistent.

There is a kind of training called crate training. What you do is when you leave the house, lock your puppy up in a cage he/she cannot lay down in. If the pup can lay down in it, he/she can poop in it and sit on the other side of it. WHen you come home, immediatley take your dog outside to poop. This should do the trick.

For the first couple months the puppy wil pea a little many times.
Try to take it outside every three hours and also half hour after eating.
It would take it to long to start waking you up and start asking to go out side.

There are many ways they have sprays that you can spray where you want the dog to go or spray places it has and it will smell weird. When i got my min pin we put her in are bathroom and put newspaper all over the floor and slowley take away newspaper until you just have a little square.
Or you can just put it outside until it goes and praise it and give it treats.
