1. The dog needs to be outside to play, so set aside times when she can do that.
2. To get her to come in, hold her food until AFTER her play time is over, and then call her inside. Immediately feed her when she comes in.
3. Praise her every time she comes to you, whether in from the outside or just to you.
4. Resist the temptation to be impatient with her. Even if she takes a while to come, still praise her. Never scold her for taking too long, because the scolding takes place when she comes, and she will learn that coming is not appreciated.

You need to work with her. She needs to know to come to you every time you call her. If you have not already done so, you need to start as soon as possible training her. You may want to join a local obedience club in your area, but ultimately you need to work with her by yourself also.
To teach a dog to come every time do the following:
Get a long line (use to be called clothesline about 20 feet or so) and attach it to her collar, then let her out into your backyard. When she reaches the end of the line, (of course you have hold of the other end, right?) call her and pull the line in whether she comes on her own or not. Now don't make this a scary experience for her! Just make it quick without strangling her and praise her when she gets to you even if you had to pull her in to you. Tell her sit. When she sits, praise her again. If you want to tempt her with something, give her liver snacks for each time she does a desired action, but praise her too. Eventually you are going to wean her off the goodies and onto the praise.
Depending on how smart your dog is will determine how many times you have to do this technique for how many days. Work with her about 1/2 hour at a time, no longer. Once she learns to come, take her off her long line, and reinforce this good behavior on a daily basis. That means working at least 5 to 10 minutes a day on obedience. She will be a much better pet for it!

I have a Black Lab that is very obedient but does wander sometimes... I found that letting her know that your watching helps... Stand by the door and when she begins to go off track Call her name , get her attention. Labs are very in tune with their emotions so if you let her know you are displeased with her behavior im sure shell change it.

Change your tone of voice, let her know who's the boss. When she comes in do you play with her or pay any attention to her. Sometimes being out doors is just more interesting. We have had great luck with a doggy door, that way they know they can go out pretty much whenever they want to.

treats, never yell just use a firm even tone of voice, if you yelled at me i wouldn't come near you because i'd guess something bad was going to happen. and don't go after the dog because then its a game. tell the dog to come and show the treats. when he's inside give the treat and happy times for all!

Maybe she needs more frequent outdoor time, unless it is too cold. If she knows the word for cookie or snack, tell her that when you're trying to get her to come inside, then give her one.

Temp her with treats, or toys, and when she gets in, let her have them. ^^;; My dog refused to come in so I had to walk out to where she was, then run torward the house. She followed.
