My dog was in a dog fight yesterday with a pit bull. The pit bull just attacked her out of nowhere. I know the owners of the pit bull so I am not worried about my dog having rabies. After the fight I checked my dog fully for any damage. All I saw was was a few scratches on her back and one on her leg. Today I was rubbing behind her ears and she cried out, I felt something moist and when I looked behind her ear I found a clean cut/puncture. I am not going to sue the owners of the other dog or anything crazy like that. I am just concerned for the health of my dog. The cut is not hot or swollen and there is no abnormal discharge coming from it. My dog is acting 100% like her self (I didnt even know she was hurt until today). I cleaned out the cut with band-aid wash for cuts and applied some new skin on the cut. My dog seems to be doing ok but I dont know if I should take her to the vet or not. Taking her to the vet today is not an option because its closed...any advice?

We have an eleven week old puppy who is in the recovery stages (thank God!) of Parvo. He is probably coming home in the next 3-4 days (unless God forbid he relapses). We are cleaning the grass, porch, deck, kitchen floor, etc. with the bleach solution. I am also bleaching the blankets, etc. My only concern is the hardwood floors I have throughout my home (except the kitchen). I don't think I can bleach them - is there anything else I can use to kill the parvo?

Also - is there any chance that the dog can catch it again within it's environment? We only had him for two days prior to him getting Parvo. He was a rescue pup AND HADN'T BEEN VACCINATED!!

Also, any suggestions about diet? I am going to have him on boiled chicken, rice, some liver (apparently absorbs toxins). I have heard some suggestions about probiotic yogurt, but I am concerned that dairy products may be hard on his system.

Any help/input would be greatly appreciated!

no because people are the ones that teach the dog to be that way, they hit them and show them that people are going to hurt them

I have a dog that is incredibly friendly with all people but absolutely hates other dogs. Is there any way to train her to like other dogs or is it just in her nature that she doesn't like them?

We are going to be getting a westie and yorkie cross puppy on the 17th December when he will be 8 weeks old. I am just wondering if it is safe to have a real christmas tree or is it safer to get a fake one. I am worried about the dropping pines getting in his paws or is this not a problem?

My dog was recently neutered, and the vet noticed that one of his testicles was missing...he had an amputation at the same time, which was extensive so the vet decided not to open him up and search for the missing testicle. He says it must have been severed or severely injured in the accident that required his leg to be amputated. He says if I have problems with my dog and any aggressive male behaviors I should bring him in and they will do an exploratory looking for the missing testicle. Another vet says that when he is healed from the current surgery, he should have another to look for the testicle as ones that do not drop from the abdomen are more likely to turn to cancer...he is 2 years old so the testicle should have dropped by now right? Should I take him in after he recovers and get it checked out or listen to the first one and wait and see? Thank you for your answers...

I stated I think it is neat that some dogs can jump into the back of a truck. People said all kinds of stupid stuff. So I hope some of you read this. First off I just lost my best dog ever after 13 years of friendship. He never once rode in the back of my truck. Always in the cab. He never missed a vet appointment, and was very well taken care of. For the person who said grow up and have some kids and get married first. You really should read my bio. I have been married for 12 years and have 2 great animal loving kids.

It lasted about 10 minutes then stopped but I don't know if anything happened to cause it or not. I just came home and found the blood drippers then found it coming from him.
