I'm sure this has already been resolved because you asked it a few days ago.
I see that people here didn't get what you were asking.
You're saying your dog swalled an entire, whole bone...correct?
My cocker spaniel did this about 3 years ago. I gave her a baby back rib bone and turned away to do something and when I turned back, the bone was gone and Penny was starring at me.
So I gave her another...and watched as she swallowed it WHOLE!
I thought "oh crap"...I called the vet and she said not to worry.
Penny ended up throwing both bones up in the night. All was well. It's really amazing how the body knows what to do in certain situations. :)
I hope everything went fine with your dog.

That depends on the dog and the bone. Was it a cooked bone? Was it a poultry bone? Dogs should never be given cooked or poultry bones as they can chew them to splinters, swallow the splinters and the splinters can puncture the intestines or stomach and cost you big bucks, not to mention the trauma to the dog.
If it was a dog bone, it's probably made to be eaten. I used to take care of a pit bull that would chew up and swallow pet store pork shanks my husky's could chew on for days. I stopped giving them to her because I didn't want any problems.
Try giving us a little more info about the bone and type of dog for better answers. Watch your dog carefully and if it looks like something is wrong, take it to the vet.
Best wishes!

dont take him to the vet! dogs love bones and in most case bones they are really good for dogs the ony time that they are bad when the bone is small enough for it to get stuck in the throat. ot a piece breaks off and gets stuck too. unless he starts choaking and/or making a sound like clearing its trought. then he is fine!

lol Now he'll have a boneroo. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Dogs are such gluttens, aren't they? Watch that he doesn't get ill . Lots of water and hopefull he'll pass it without problems. We never gave our dogs bones as we didn't want the problems that go with it or the boneroos. hahaha

Doesn't matter, unless it was a Greenie. In that case, take him to a vet.

take him to the vet, it could block up his intestines
before he starts to experience any symptoms he will already be dying.
