We rescued this little girl when she was 10 weeks old, she is now 4 months old and we still cant tell if she is a full bred GSD. We dont care what she is we will love her all the same, of course, but we are curious creatures, no? Help us out, please.

I have a dog, who is very aggresive with her food. We got her from a kennel when she was about eleven weeks old, and we donot know where she came from. When we got her, she was very skinny, but a wonderful dog. She will eat out of your hand just fine, but when you put food in her bowl she goes into an aggresive mode, and will take down anything in her way. You cannot pet her while she's eating, stand over her or even be in the kitchen. It seems like we've tried evrything and i do not know what to do? Any ideas?

I have been mentoring for 6 years with a dog trainer who has been teaching and training dogs for forty years and I still have a lot to learn. My mentor has so much knowledge(judges, teaches, knows all the AKC rules and standards and runs obedience programs) but still does not claim to be an expert. I do not understand why with all of the aggression problems and behavioral problems that we see in dogs today why a test or at least some kind of formal education is not required before someone can label themselves a trainer. I think it is crazy that one can just order a correspondence course and in under 6 months brag of certification as a dog trainer.

How many of you out there are real suckers for your dog and let them sleep on the bed? My pug sleeps in our king sized bed and still manages to hog most of the bed.

I have a 4 month old Staffy pup. He is healthy and happy he has had a recent vet check and all is well. Jackson (the puppy) used to chase us and run after us jumping for his food bowl, then one day he started to get a little cautious of the bowl, now when we put his bowl down for him and he freaks out. He stays about 1-2 meters away from the bowl and it takes us about 15 minutes to coax him closer. When he finally gets to his bowl he pigs out and loves every bite so its not the food. He has never been punished for anything to do with food or even anywhere near his eating area. We have tried 3 different bowls all made of different materials, we tried moving his eating area and we even lock the cats out of the area he eats in just in case (he has always been fine with the cats they get on great). I don't know what else to try. He eats well and he has no problem with his water or biscuit bowls. His eating area is back how it started (before the problems). Has anyone got any ideas?

My dog has bad dandruff. He's a Golden and they're prone to having dry skin. I feed him good quality food, brush him daily to distribute oils, and bathe him once a month with a coal tar shampoo. BUT, he still has dandruff! I've read to try using fish oil supplements to giving him a raw egg per day. Anyone know if any of these things work, or are approved by vets?
