It would be best to have the vet check the inside of the ear with an instrument that can check deep inside. It may be that the problem is not simply dirt but something else such as infection. There are many possibilities with the ears. The cleansing solution may have contained alcohol and irritated the ear to cause redness. Do you know what color the ear was before you started cleaning? Please do not use q-tips to clean the ears and don't put anything in the ears once you schedule the appointment. You want the vet to be able to see what's going on.

I rescued a dog with 7 puppies about 3 years ago. At the time, the mama had a yeast infection in both of her ears. She's had a couple more outbreaks since then. A couple of her puppies even had one or two infections. Your little one could have the same thing or maybe even something more serious. My suggestion is to call your veterinarian and describe the symptoms. He/she may want to see her, and in my opinion, it's well worth taking her in for a check up. It will save her a lot of suffering!

Dogs with ears that stand rarely get them. This is what tells me it is probably allergies. An infection of the ear usually
happen in dogs with ears that lay against the head, creating a warm moist area for bacteria to grow. You must go to vet to get an antibiotic and then try to find out what the dog is allergic to.

She may have excess hair growing in her ear. This can lead to an infection. My vet plucked the hair out of my dogs ears. But you MUST get your dog to the vet ASAP instead of relying on us amateurs to guess what is wrong with your dog.
