do you already have a dog?
if not keep the faith
because they've been breeding dogs for folks with allergies
hah well strike that
guess it was a $~4k scheme http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20061028/news_1b28brodie.html
you could try poodles...or a poodle mix, like labradoodle if you prefer larger canines
"People think short-haired animals cause fewer allergic reactions than longer haired pets. It is actually animal dander (skin scales) that causes the significant reactions - not the amount of hair on the pet. "
"We suggest that if you are attracted to one of the recommended breeds below, find a breeder and spend some time at the breeder’s place of business. While there, remain cognizant of how you are feeling; are your usual allergic symptoms acting-up? This is the true pet allergy test; how you are feeling while visiting the breed you’re interested in!"

Well it depends on if you are highly allergic to dogs. The medicine wont work until like 6 wks or more (my mom is getting allergy shots) So like i have a dog and im kinda allergic to them but i am actually getting used to a dog being around and i think the allergy is going away!

I have been debating having it myself although it would take a while because I seem to be allergic to anything with fur.
I have found though as someone said before that if you get used to a particular animal then you don't have any allergic reaction anymore. Example: I go round my friends house practically everyday and I have no allergic reaction to her dog but if I go round someone else's I come up in a rash...

My Son is allergic to my Mother-in-laws Dogs ,but is fine at home with our Dog,I don't know why either, as they are of the same breed. So if you really want one get one, and deal with the allergy later. When my son goes to his Nans he has to have his tablet,so he can be around the dogs.

If you really want a dog but are allergic to them, why not have shih tzu, they have not got fur, their coat is actually hair, my partner suffers with asthma so we had 2 shih tzus, fab little dogs and no issues with them at all

Some breeds i.e. miniature schnauzers, are sometimes a suitable dog to have for people who are allergic to other dogs
