Why ask the question, if you are going to answer your own question, that was pretty stupid.

There is a saying among responsible pit owners....Punish the deed, not the breed.
I have read up on this extensively and actually the best predictor of which dog will bite a human has NOTHING to do with breed.
A scientific study found that the dogs most likely to bite were male intact (not fixed/neutered) dogs that are almost constantly kept on a chain or in a small kennel regardless of what breed. Pit Bulls just get the worst reputation because when they do bit is more likely to cause serious damage.
If properly socialized a Pit Bull is no problem-just ask "The Dog Whisperer"-he lets little kids play with his pack of Pit Bulls!

Own a pit know how you feel. I have had people walk up to my dog when he is working, my service dog and hit or kick At him because he is a bad dog. Likely in this city they can get a big fine for brothering a service dog. Pits are terriers and all terriers are aggrssive by nature. They all were bred for hunting and killing something. Pits have a bad rap because they are used by some for bad things and they look to bring out the worst part of their nature instead of building on their good natures. You must remember people like to believe the worst. Pit bulls by breed standards are not normally human aggressive, they are made that way by breeding and training

I have a pit bull and he is a sweet heart. It is all how you raise them. No matter what breed, if a dog feels threatened or it trained to be aggressive it will be. If you didn't know German Shepards bit the most people last year and the most aggressive dogs are the Dalmatian and Chow Chow, but each dog has it's own personality. Pit Bulls/Rotts/German Shepard/Dobermans are easy to train because they are born protectors and people abuse their instincts. The news always report on what the people want to hear so next time you see a report on pit bull attacks look to see if it is a mutt, because it usually is.

I agree with what you said exactly. The factual truth of the matter is that no breed of dog is inherently "mean". There are certain breeds that are most opt to bite than others, and they are poodles, german shepards and I forgot the third. But animals are innocent. I blame irresponsible negligent owners for dog bites. Dogs still are animals and we must respect them and supervise them accordingly. People are the blame, not the animals.

You just answered your own question...they are only part of the blame. Just like certain dogs are bred to herd, pit bulls are bred to protect. A pit bull can turn on you based on it's blood line in addition to how they are treated.

Pit bulls, nor any other dogs, are always to blame, for their aggression. Sometimes they're trained that way, other times, it's a result of fear.
Very rarely, is a dog aggressive without reason.

nope
people are to blame for their pitbulls biting people

whereas no one argues that a pit was originally bred for dog fighting
they were NEVER bred and often culled if showing aggression to humans

Pit bulls and some other breeds have an inherent predisposition toward aggression. They can be really calm family pets one minute and then something sets them off and they snap. I don't trust them.
