Whenever my cat plays she starts panting and making noises that sound like she's wheezing or growling silently. She's a grey tabby, 7 months old, we just adopted her a few weeks ago.

I took her to the vet a week ago and he said she's probably getting over a cold but since she doesn't have any other symptoms I shouldn't worry

When she starts doing it I usually stop playing but she's obviously not tired because she'll chase after me and jump on my leg.

And she does it at certain times and not at other times. Example: if she jumps off a chair to chase a toy she'll do it, if she jumps off a chair to go eat then she doesn't do it

Should I keep playing with her when she does this or give her a rest? Does anyone else's cat do this? Should I call the vet (It's hasn't gotten better but it also hasn't gotten any worse)

My cat 'Misty' was diagnosed with Anemia today.
I took him to an emergency Vets last week because his back legs went all wobberly, he fell over and started panting. The vet kept him in over night and said that he was in a critical condition and it looked like he wouldnt make it through the night.... well he did! they kept him in for a few more days then he was allowed home. They were treating him for parasites and he was responding to the tablets. They then took blood tests and the results come through today and it showed he hasn't got Parasites but he has Anemia. The results show he is recovering and that it was caused by Fleas.
He seems really down and is wanting to sleep all the time, WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP HIM? WILL HE SURVIVE??? SHOULD I PLAY WITH HIM? WHAT FOOD SHOULD I GIVE HIM?????? HELP!

I know Frontline is a safe product but it's for kittens 8 weeks and older. I read online that someone just reduced the dosage by only putting on a few drops. Do you think this is safe? Anyone know any better solutions? Help my baby! Thanks guys ;)

IN MY BED--milk leaked through the sheets!!! I'm tired, but don't particularly wish to smell like sour milk in the morning. She normally feeds them in a wicker basket--but it's been cold. WHAT TO DO?

I want some at least two of them a boy and a girl. I will get them desexed. Because once I leave home in two years time I will get them when i get my own home. I want some cats to talk to and be affectionate toward without hostility. But I want them to have some sort of stubborn personalities as well.

Can they where collars?

He ran away last night and I found him tonight. His back left paw is bothering him. He doesn't like to put pressure on it, yet he's still going up and down stairs and jumping onto things like normal which I know will make it worse, and I know it hurts him because he starts panting and he lays down. He ate his food when he came home and tried to drink out of the shower head but ended up not drinking. He layed in my room with me for a little while and then he went down to the dirty basement and is now laying in a corner, whimpering. He won't leave the corner & he isn't responding to me much. I'm guessing he's just tired or something? I want to take him to the vet asap but my mom insists on waiting a couple days to see what happens. I guess he sprained his foot but with the way he's acting, I'm hoping he makes it to morning. I'm really worried, though. It's reminding me of my guinea pig before she died. She sat in the corner of her cage, whimpered all night & died in the morning.
Ideas?

I enlarged the picture and noticed that its mouth had a u shape sort of like a smile, and the cat is most of the time all the time happy unless you put it near water. I never thought cats smile so I dont know why its mouth is u shape while it is happy.

We found a stray kitten who's left hind leg was crushed at the pelvis by... something. He doesn't seem to mind; it just kind of drags behind him. He's very friendly and sweet, and we've already invested a lot of money in him to have him treated, etc... The problem is that when he poops, his leg gets in the way and he drags it all over the place and sometimes he doesn't clean it off his leg. Does anyone have a solution? Would cat diapers work?

One thing I didnt mention is that when I took him to the vet he said he was really anemic and that his blood was super thin. If it was just the vaccine, would it do that to him? Lots of people said I should wait to see if he gets any better and I will, if there is any hope. I just dont want to see him die a horrible painful death. Once he gets to that stage I might not be able to put him to sleep because emergency vets are much more expensive than when you make an appointment, and we dont have much money.

I just brought a kitten into my home where there are two adult cats. One has received him well, but the other one doesn't like him. Will they eventually get along, or should I send the kitten back to the shelter from which he came from. The kitten is young and cute and cuddly and would definitely be adopted, but I did not expect one of our adopted cats to be so pissed off by his presence.

I do give affection to the cat who does not like the kitten, but I am wondering if he will come around and eventually like the kitten.

What is your opinion on what I should do? I Would not have to give the kitten back to the shelter, but at the same time, I would not want one of my existing cats to be uncomfortable with the new kitten. I would appreciate any experiences that you may have.

My two kittens were diagnosed with upper respiratory a little while ago and were prescribed (among other things) 0.5ml of viralys gel every 12 hrs. After doing a little research on it, I haven't seen much positive to say about it... anyone have any experience with it?

One of the kittens was also put on a broad-spectrum antibiotic. Both seem to be much better; I wish that the second kitten could have stayed on the antibiotic but shortly after it was administered she vomited twice and had extremely liquid diarrhea so she was taken off of it.

Their symptoms have pretty much subsided aside from the occasional sneeze.

The vet told me to finish the entire bottle of viralys. Is this generally the recommended practice with this medication?
Any info you can give me is appreciated.

Does anyone know if cats have to be licensed in St.Louis County? Specifically, the city of Normandy? All I could find on the Normandy City Hall website was dog licensing.

My wonderful cat is not feeling right. He is such a lovely sweet affectionate cat. The whole day he has been laying under a bed, not moving, and howling awfully loud...it is so sad to hear. I moved him onto a softer area to make him comfy and when I think he has fallen asleep he just howls SO SO loud like he is in pain.

It doesnt seem like he has broken any bones, and I have tried "pressing" all over his body and there dont seem to be any super sensitive spots. He has puked just a little bit.

What could be wrong with him? Stoumach ache?

He is a totally healthy cat, this is so random and I feel so bad for him :(

We are going to the vet ASAP in the AM

Hi. I brought a male kitten few months back. He was 5 months old and had just started to sense his surroundings. I often took him outdoors for walk and activity. Yesterday evening when my cat was walking in the grass i saw an eagle gliding above in the sky. It was quite a sight, and i was looking at it in joy. Suddenly that same eagle dived towards the ground, and i though that he is going to crash or is injured. Then within a split second, he picked up my cat and flew into the sky. I was horrified by the sight. My heart almost failed and i screamed. But it was too late and i couldn't do anything. I didn't even get enough time to react. I'm still very worried about my cat. What did the eagle do to my cat? i never imagined this can ever happen. I reported to police about my lost cat, but they said there's nothing they can do in this. I now plan to get a new cat. How to avoid this tragedy from happening again?

I have a big girl cat that has been in the same room with a small boy cat for about 1 year…..I know not the best size match.....they are both NOT fixed and I think she is pregnant.... (I hope).....she has been mothering the boy cat and just tried to attack another fixed boy cat that lives on the other side of there door.....she has never done that....it looked like a woman mood swing......what do you think?

Is there a way to tell if she is pregnant with out taking her to the vet......?

I've had swollen lymph nodes in my groin area for over a week now, & in the past few days, they feel like they've gotten bigger & little more swollen. I had made an appt at an ob/gyn clinic for tomorrow (I need to get a routine exam anyway), but should I get checked at a regular Dr's office tomorrow as well? I'm getting a little worried because now I also feel discomfort around my neck, I may have a slight fever, & i seem to have other symptoms of CSD that are listed on online listings. I have indoor cats only & they have had fleas. They have also scratched me in recent months on my legs (it happened when they tred to climb in my lap when I'm wearing shorts). Also, could it be something else? Please help!
