Cats - October 2007

I've never had a girl kitten before so I'm not used to this whole ordeal. I'm super attached to her too, so I know I'm going to be upset when she comes home after the surgery. I guess I'm just asking other cat-lovers how their girl cats felt after being spayed. She's a total inside cat and we have one other boy cat in the house who is fixed, so naturally I'm getting her fixed as well. I'm just not used to seeing cats after an invasive surgery. Maybe I'm working myself up over it, but I just want to know that she'll bounce back quickly. How was your experience with getting your cat spayed?? Thanks for the comfort in advance! :^)

I have a 6 1/2 month old kitten(Oh yeah!! BIG GUY) who has been hassled by a cohabitater TOM. When he was little it was a sketchy OK, Then at about 5 months apparantly he could smell my kitten getting into adult hood. He was neutered on wednesday.(10-3-07) When will the TOM realize that the little big guy is no longer a threat?

Why would someone shave a SHORT haired cat?
Pleeeease explain this to me if you know of a reason that I'm missing out on.
The only reason I can come up with is that they think its funny or cute, or maybe they think its gonna stop the shedding.
Any others?

Is there a law about young kittens not being able to go home alone if they are under ____ months. I was going to adopt a 10 week old kitten today but the woman told me that kittens at that age cannot go home without another kitten. I live in Minnesota. Is she lying or telling the truth?

I live in an apartment complex in which the apartments right next to each other. So i have noticed my neighbour's precious cat who i really love, is always kicked out of the house every night. She seems like an indoor cat and does not even go one feet away from the door. She just stays by the door mat or gets under their car. Is is not wrong for them to do that?

Also she absolutely loves me too, when ever i take a walk at night she 'meows' at me and walks a little toward me, and when i go to her she loves to play and cuddle. Would it be proper to ask my neighbours if i can play with their cat? I feel like a theif outside their apartment playing with their cat in the middle of the night.

I just looked at her like if she was crazy and left.....
What would you have done?

Long story short this stray male cat that i have been feeding and taking care of (we are neuteuring him shortly) adores me! he eats food from my hand, he rubs against me, he does everything to give me affection:) And i am only 15 and i have a dog too:) anyways our neighbours cat is bigger and older. Everytime the stray and the n.cat comes to see me, the stray acts like he cant act affectionate around me b/c of the n.cat...why is that?

My wife and I have a neutered male cat that we have had for almost two years from now. He was and has been about the friendliest cat i've ever met, not just to us, but our friends and family. when we went on our honeymoon my mother took care of our cats for us. she said the first day she came he acted nice and when she went to clean their litter box he seriously attacked her. she had to go to the e.r. on account of him. and everyday that she came back he tried to do the same thing. he basically stalked her like prey. even when we returned home he was friendly to us and our friends, but our parents visited and he acted like she was his mortal enemy. she has been around him in the past and he acted normally. but since our honeymoon he hates her. he has never acted this way to any other person before or after. at the same time, he had never been without us for more than a day or so before our honeymoon. has anyone heard of anything like this, or have any help?

One of my professors had this comic on his door- it shows a cat looking at a table with many triangles and angles drawn on it, as if the cat was calculating serious trig before making its jump.

Does anyone know where I can find this online? I'd love to have a copy of it!!!

He's a boy. I don't have him yet, we're waiting another couple weeks. He seems quiet (though that could change). He's light grey with a white nose and white paws.

Nothing in his diet has changed and he is bouncing around playing still yet he has stopped eating his food full stop and usually he is making it hard for me to feed him in the anticipation of getting his meal.

So it's been 2 days and I must sound like an over protective pet owner but I do take super care of my animals and this worries me a little just no money to get him to the vets at the moment as I don't get paid till next week and I'm poor this week.

Any help is appreciated

I give her an insulin inj. inn the a.m. as Dr. said. But all day she
is lethargic & doesn't come to "life" until the later P.M. It seems
that giving her the inj in the P.M. would be better, as the test show it takes almost 8 hours to really get into her system.
Any suggestions? They sure would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's a paste/supplement that you put in their mouth for the immune system supposed to help the cats to be less sick. It's called either Virolys or Verolys?? My vet told me about this but I wanted to know if anyone has tried this??
