My cat Bowie is normally a mental, feral little male kitten but today he has been being sick alot and he has been listless and slept all day. I took him to the vet and she said to give him some electrolyte water and to not feed him at all till tomorrow, she also said that his tummy was really sore and she didnt know what was wrong with him or why it was happening

What can I do to make him feel better and what should I feed him when I can start feeding him tomorrow? What could it be? He is an inside cat so he doesnt get any nasties from outside and we dont use many chemicals at all in the house.

my cat is very lethargic and weak this morning and his tongue isn't going back inside his mouth and there's drool everywhere. when i pick him up he wants down and he walks slowing back to where i picked him up from.

to take him to the emergency vet before 8 am is 40 dollars more than to wait until after 8 am. i am extremely short on money at the moment...

should i wait until 8 am to have more money for possible treatment or go now....

He is three years old and purrs all the time almost. He is all black except his face has a couple of spots the size of a quarter that are white!

It was 3 days ago my cat started acting listless, hiding, not eating or drinking, I have given her droplets of water and offered her variety of things she just throws it up instantly, she doesn't seem to be sleeping either she just sits down and stays very still eyes strained to be opened. She is not cleaning herself, I don't see anything in her mouth but she struggles and I am afraid of hurting her if there is something in her throat. I live 50 miles from anything, I'm very attached and unfortunately very broke-financially and physically, please help..

We recently took in a rescued feral kitten, appx 6-8 weeks old. He was found in a very rural woodsy area with extreme elements and wildlife but was not around humans so far as we know. The person who found him kept him in a barn for a week while looking for someone to take him in... we have had him for a week now.

He is NOT ajusting at all. We have had other cats and have never had one like this. He will not purr or rub against us or show any signs of affection, when we pet him he sits paralyzed and looks miserable. If we ignore him he hides under the couch... he comes out at night when we are all in bed- if we didn't force him out we'd never see him. It's like living with a rat!

He freaks when he sees a hand coming to pet or feed, he will hiss and growl and try to run. He is okay once he is held, doesn't bite then but like I said he won't purr or anything, he just balls up and bides his time until he can run and hide again.

Can this cat ever be domesticated?

I have a beautiful, very fury Persian kitty. In general he is very hostile, grumpy cat. Most of the time he doesn't like to be pet, touched, or held and if anyone tries to he bites. His hair is tangled and matted very badly because he won't allow us to brush him. The mats are huge and go all the way down to his sikin and it is very painful for him. I tried to take him to the groomer's but he went nuts when I tried to put him in his carrier. Then I tried to take him in my arms and hold him in the back seat while my husband drove. He freaked out again, bit me, scratched me, and then peed all over me. So we couldn't take him, and had to cancel the appointment. Then we tried to hire a groomer to come out to the house but they wanted three hundred dollars (we can't afford that). So his mats have been getting worse, and worse. He is very uncomfortable and absoluteoly miserable right now. I feel so badly for him. I want to help him but I don't know how. Any suggestions?!!!!

Is that bad or too strong for a cat just even one minor spray? She started licking forever and probably making a lot of silva and drooling, maybe a little foaming. hahah, poor cat, it looked so funny. she ran away under the bed. what we should do is take the cat in for a dental cleaning or get a special treatment at pets mark. however, the doctor veterinarian said the cats teeth were ok condition.

s(he) is very cute, but small. I can't really tell if its a boy or a girl, cause its so small. It seems to be doing well and I would peg it at the 4 week mark in ability, but in size 3 weeks would be pushing it. Here is my dilema...should I be feeding it kitten milk substitute and kitten food? It will eat dry food whenever it is available, but I don't know if s(he) is ready. Its really happy and playful, so I would assume its doing well. Also, I have never had and orange cat, what should I name it? I don't want anything too common though. My 2 year old cat Phoebe is taking it all fairly well, she just won't go anywhere near it without hissing. This will pass right? Oh yes, I can't take it to the vet till Tues. cause it is thanksgiving here in canada, and everything is closed.

I just got a kitten. She's about 1 month old. I need all the kittten advise I can get. For starters how do I teach her to use her litter box. I would think it's going to be hard since we live in a two story apt. and her litter box is down stairs. She's to little to walk down the stairs. And can I take her a small bath with "Hartz 3 in 1 Foaming shampoo for Kittens" (it's for fleas).

I want a gothy name for a kitten i'm getting for my birthday, i've already decided a girl name and a boy name (not sure of the gender im getting yet), but i wanted an androgynous option too. So it's out of Fallen and Malice.
Which in your opinion sounds better? I like both but i wanted to hear your views aswell.
Thanks =]

Normal cats lap up the water with their tongues right?

My cat dips his paw into the water and licks the water off his paw instead of from the bowl

Hi, and thanks for checking out my Q
I am a really big-hearted person – I can’t stand the thought of shelter pups being put down! So when I hear a dog’s being put down (which is rare in our shelter, because they all go so FAST!) I beat it out there and adopt him/her. I usually only hear 1 out of 3 that are being put-down, because word like that doesn’t travel much around our town – but anyways, when I do adopt them I find then homes. Most of the pet’s get along w/ my two ferrets, but sometime’s I ain’t that luckee! When a dog doesn’t get along w/ my pets, I haffta keep th’ ferrets in my other area of that house, the one w/ a door keeping them in that side of the house... w/ my fish tank LOL
ANYWAY, when a dog isn’t able 2 be adopted, if s/he fits well w/ my pet family, I let him/her stay. I have two dogs that didn’t find homes, Nemo who’s a sheepdog mix.. And Dino who’s a st bernard and great dane mix... I also have a designer dog (stupid buy choice) who’s a pomeranian. I heard they were soooo cool that I got one - that’s when I decided to go shelter pups most of the time. The pom (Jesse) is cu-ute though! BUT he costed a lot more and his operation (he had problms w/ his hips) was like 1,000!!!! they’re all really loveable dogs tho, and get along GR8 w/ my ferrets but I’m considering getting a cat now. Normally I don’t adopt cat’s, just dogs – but now there’s like one cat who’s gonna be put down! I feel so bad, I wonder if my dogs would get along w/ a cat?? Well, a kitten (8 months)
The dogs are all over 1 yr. I have a HUGE house, there’s four floors - basement, downstairs, middle floor and upstairs! I don’t have a attic. But there’s doors closing all those levels off, so if one of my pets gets ruff w/ the other, I can separate them. And w/ all that space I only have 3 dogs and 2 ferrets —I do have a 30 gal. fish tank w/ a variation of tetras, sharks ‘n goldfish – but I don’t think they will mind the cat b/c their room door will be shut all the time.

MY QUESTION IS:
Will my current animals (two long-haired ferrets, a st bernard & great dane mix, a pom & a sheepdog mix) mind being housed with another catt??? I love catz but never thought my dogs would get along with one – or my ferrets. All my animals have run of the house (except my room and my fish’ room) ‘n the cat would b able to go w/ever he wanted.. Would this be a problem?

OK here's the deal: I have a Siamese cat that is constantly scratching his neck. This condition started about 2 years ago when he started scratching so much that he cut his neck open. There was blood everywhere. I took him to the vet, and the vet put a cone on him. We put him on antibiotics and steroids and special cat food.

Well, he's still scratching, 2 years later. He doesn't have fleas and the vet can't figure out what's wrong with him. He's still on his prescription cat food. I have a hepa filter vacuum cleaner, a special air filter for my heater/air conditioner. He has never once has been outside or around other animals. Any ideas?
