I have a four month old kitten;I've had her for two months.I keep dry kitten food down at all times, and offer her a spoonful of canned food morning and evening. She prefers to nibble at her dry food, though, and she loves her water to be very cold! I've had cats for over 40 years and this is how I've always fed them.Cats tend to like to eat small amounts throughout the day,so leaving dry down all the time seems to work best.My Batty is just right, weight -wise,topping out at 4 lbs.

Let me guess, your first kitten? I've owned cats all my life, I have 2 now -). First hint, feed her/him kitten chow....wonderful kitten food, all the vitamins, nutrients they need. Now, here is the big thing. Cats do not need a feeding regiment. They will only eat until they are full, they will walk away from the dish. I have always made sure, from 5 weeks old until 19, yes that is how old my last cat lasted, that there was a full bowl of food at all times. If you are feeding your kitten canned food.....STOP IT. It is ok, as a once a week "treat". The dry food is much better for their teeth and gums, the dry breaks down plaque built up. Plus there is alot less fat in the dry food. And always make sure fresh water, not all cats keep drinking milk after they are weaned. My girls, 2 and 1 drink the water out of the toilet...they love fresh cold water lol. If you find out this is case with yours, don't have those automatic discs, bowl cleaners, they will poison it.
Let the cat be a cat, they are so independent....after a year, they won't even need you lol. Keep the bowl filled, they do not overeat like dogs.

He's growing, he needs the food. Feed him wet food 4-5 times a day, and as much as he wants. This may be three times an adult cat's portion, but a kitten simply cannot be overweight. Wet food is better for cats than dry food, because it contains 80% liquid - perfect for an animal of the desert that hardly ever feels the need to drink, having adjusted to take in liquid through its food. If you add a little water to this wet food, your cat won't really need to drink anymore. Cats can and will never drink enough water to compensate the loss of liquid they suffer from dry food. If you keep an eye on the amount of grains in his food (the less the better), he will be just fine. Start limiting the times you feed him when he's about 6 month old, and begin limiting the amount when he's about 10-11 months old, and he should turn out fine.

to answer your 1st question you have a common shorthair mix kitten they make the best!!!!.
2. if you feed her dry food you can leave it out for her and get her about a 1/2 cup at the most at a time.
I feed my cats dry food all the time and a taste of real tuna once a day (about a teaspoonful) and they are really happy kitties. also make sure your kitten has plenty of fresh water as they love it and sometimes like to paw at it like my little kitten hannah does.

I'm thinking in the morning, lunchtime, and dinner times. 11 might be late because she'll have to go potty a lot after she eats at such a young age, and she needs rest at night because she'll be playing a lot, haha. I know way more about dogs, but i hope this helps!
