My daughter is screaming for a cat. She is 3 years old. I want to get her a cat as a bad a$sed santa present. Should I? I am very apprehensive about the idea. I am a clean freak and keep my home as spotless as I can. Are cats nasty and disgusting? Can I have a cat and a clean home? I am really curious.

A couple of years ago my grandma started feeding a stray cat that wandered into our neighborhood. She had kittens shortly after, and since then has kept breeding. We have about 12 stray cats and kittens now wandering around our yard, and we don't know what to do. They are impossible to catch, they run away when you get close to them, and we've had a few get caught in my dad's truck engine, and we can't live with this anymore. My family doesn't know how to get rid of them, and we don't know if there is any place we can call to get help. My grandmother doesn't just want to stop feeding them, she thinks they'll die in our yard or stay for the shelter she provides for them. If you know what we can do about this situation, please tell me. (serious answers ONLY)

I'm wondering what breed my long haired cat is. I narrowed it down to siberian or norwegian but comparing pictures also included the possibility of a maine coon. My cat is orange tabby with white on his chest, muzzle, paws, and undertail. He appears to have points on the tips of his ears. Can someone tell me what breed he is? He also has a plume tail. Theres not a good chance you can tell w/o a pic, sorry.

when they don't want anything in their house climbed on, shed on, or scratched? They never have money for a vet. Why do people do this? I was just wondering. Wouldn't it be better to just get a stuffed cat that needs no care or training? When will they realize cats are living creatures with likes, dislikes, and natural functions?

She's 14yrs old and is usually quite playful (for her age). She doesn't want to sit in the lounge, normally she'll insist on someone's lap for a cuddle. I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow, but I'm really quite concerned for her. Her breathing is worrying me the most, she can't seem to get comfortable and will only sit on one position - with her paws tucked underneath her. She's an indoor cat, I don't think she could have picked anything up outside of our balcony.

Any suggestions?

My cat took a mean ole mega poo on the carpet. I've shampooed the area, scrubbed it, put deodorizer on it, everything I could think of, but it still smells! Ick! Anyone know how to get the smell out? I know the "cat" smell is strong, but this is horrible!

In my home country, we used to eat cats as a delicious meal, but after moving to the United States, I do not want to do anything illegal. Will I get in trouble if I eat a cat?

2 1/2 years ago my husband found an abandoned litter of kitties behind a restaurant. We were able to save one of them. She was about 2 weeks old when we found her, eyes barely open, and I took on the resonsibility of being her mom. I bottle fed her, taught her how to pee, poop, & eat. Needless to say this little girl become my baby in every sense of the word. She was more than just a cat to us. She had a personality like no cat we'd ever seen. She reminded us a lot of a dog. She responded to her name (Chance), begged for food at dinner & kissed us like there was no tomorrow. She was the best.
2 nights ago, my Chance snuck into the dryer to take a nap. My husband didn't realize it, and well, he started the dryer. 20
minutes later he went to investigate the thumping coming from the laundry room only to find her lying in the dryer...We rushed her to the vet & learned it was too late. Please take this as a warning: ALWAYS CHECK INSIDE THE DRYER BEFORE YOU START IT!!! For my baby girl.

OK any pet owner knows that fleas suck! I live in a house with 4 units 2 bottom 2 top floor, I am on the bottom & My neighbor has 3 cats who she lets go in & out but does not flea treat her pets. She had a Ferret who wouldnt gain weight and eventually died I tried to tell her it was the fleas and that she Needs to take care of the problem but she will not listen. NOW the fleas are coming over into our house and getting on our indoor only cat. I bought flea meds for her but my husband has an allergy to fleas and he is still getting bit because they are in here. How do I convince her she needs 2 take care of them.
She is an older woman who is retired. She says she cannot afford 2get them flea treated yet she just bought a new HD TV and a new very expensive washer/dryer, also 1 of her cats was shot with a BB gun and limps around. she "cant afford" to take it to the vet but will not give it up.
We R afraid 2 report her because we dont want the building 2B condemed 4 fleas.
Any Advice?

I just got a 6 week old kitten that likes to cry when she's alone. Even if I'm just in the other room; if she can't see me, she cries loudly. When I want to go somewhere I put her in my bedroom and play some quiet music to try and soothe her and she still cries. I live in an apartment so I can't have people complaining about her or I might have to give her up. Will she grow out of this? Is there anything I can do to stop her loud meowing? Please help!

My cat is 3 years old.
I have had her since she was about six weeks old.
She was spayed two years ago.
And never declawed.
This week she's been acting very weird.
Overall she's kind of a playful cat.
She occasionally scratches and bites.
But this week she's been acting very very mean and vicious.
Just walking by she'll hiss at you and try to bite you.
If you try to pet her she will try to hurt you.
Last weekend we were out of town for three days but
it has never made a difference before.
Could you tell me why she is all of a sudden so vicious??

Her signs.

1. Eating less?
2. Two red bumps on belly.
3. Got bigger.
4. Likes being held less.
Please help, and is this even possible?

Hi, our cat is 7 months old. Usualy he's constantly hungry, whenever we go to the kitchen he'l beg for food even if hes just been fed a whole pouch of whiskers kitten food & some dry biscuit IAMS. Yesturday evening i put deworming powder into his food as he hasnt been properly wormed yet because we found him as a stray kitten 2/3 months ago (dw hes been to the vet & had his injections nd health checks which he passed). I mixed it into his food and he ate a little and left the rest. He left the food all night so i changed his food & washed the bowl this morning, thinking he must taste the dewormer & thats putting him off but he still wont touch the new food. He ate a meat kitten treat so he's still hungry & whenever we go to the kitchen he begs for food so I dont think hes gone off food completly. A couple days back he had the runs but hes fine now & is acting perfectly normal. Its now been a day so im starting to get worried, any ideas?

We have only had her a week as we adopted her off someone who couldnt look after her anymore. I dont know much about her past history but she is a very friendly cat. When i was putting the flea powder on her she started drooling out of her mouth quite alot. Her teeth look ok and she eats well. The only other times ive seen her drool is when my other younger male cat scares her. Is she doing this because shes scared? She doesnt do it all the time , 3 times since we got her last sat but theres alot of it.

My male cat plays in the water, tips the bowl just plays. He won't drink it. I have a female cat and if she goes to drink most of the time there isn't any water and if there is he gets in front of her and tips the bowl. He drinks from the toilet which I now just leave open and clean. I tried the water fountain thinking the toilet was because it was cold. Just tossed that fountain around. The female drinks only from the tub - he hasn't figured it out yet, so I leave alittle for her each morning.

Any suggestions?

If i ever feed my 1 year old female calico/himlaylan anything with some sort of relation to seafood, she throws it up hours after...but anything else like beef and chicken she doesn't.....any clue why this is?

so far the only things i've fed her that she throws up is *Whitefish,Seafood platter, red clap or something,*

so i have stopped feeding her those and anything relating to Seafood until I solve this and to figure out weather or not she is just allergic or something to Seafood.
