My cat took a mean ole mega poo on the carpet. I've shampooed the area, scrubbed it, put deodorizer on it, everything I could think of, but it still smells! Ick! Anyone know how to get the smell out? I know the "cat" smell is strong, but this is horrible!

There is a cleaner in the pet department. It is called Natures own or something and it really works. It gets the smell out and supposedly makes them not want to go there again. Has something to do with the enzymes...

I had a cat once. I came to the conclusion there was only one way to get a cat pee or cat poo smell out:
1. Burn the house down and dig a deep hole
2. Rebuild at least 10 miles away.
Sorry I can't be more helpful, but you do have my deepest sympathy!

Did you spray it with resolve? That should take care of the stain. That's weird if the smell won't come out. My cat wipes her butt on the carpet, so we get carpet-cleaner people to come over and clean our carpet every few months. Try calling them.

Hire a proper carpet cleaning machine.
My husband owns one, My granddaughter was sick and my daughter shampooed it several times with her wet n dry vaccum cleaner. it still smelt. A few months later we took up the machine and with a quick whoosh there was a strong smell of sick as the machine sucked it up and the carpet is perfect.

for any type of smells, I highly recommend Simple Solution. It's a spray that take scare of oders. You can buy them at pet stores. Not sure what other stores sell them, but I know the local pet store near me (New York) sells it. There's also many other sprays that work well with cat smells.
