my cat is very lethargic and weak this morning and his tongue isn't going back inside his mouth and there's drool everywhere. when i pick him up he wants down and he walks slowing back to where i picked him up from.

to take him to the emergency vet before 8 am is 40 dollars more than to wait until after 8 am. i am extremely short on money at the moment...

should i wait until 8 am to have more money for possible treatment or go now....

It definately sounds like your cat's been poisoned. Has he been outside or do you have anything inside he may have got into? The only other thing it could be is an absys inside his mouth but it really sounds like poisoning. I understand if money's tight but if you kitty has been poisoned, you really need to get him to the vet as quickly as possible.
Good luck.

Why wait, the longer you wait the more invasive the treatment could be. That could add up much more than $40.00 additional.
Now do the right thing and call the emergency clinic. Even if there is a vet on this post they wouldn't be able to tell you much without looking at the cat.
Good luck!

Your choice. Kitty is very ill, so you will need to make a decision. I think $40 is cheap for emergency, so go now. I hope it isn't too late already.

sounds like your cat has picked up some poison urgent attention needed i think hope he is ok it is hard when money is the deciding factor i do hope there is no-one in your area that is nasty enough to have put poison out where an animal can get hold of it

take the food you have been feeding the cat, and go to the vet. Call first and tell them how the cat is behaving. See if they will waive the extra fee for you.

I am sorry you have such a problem and if he is very old he may be dying. if not he might be poisoned. It is a horrible choice to make and I pray you make the right one. Love, Linda

If you don't want drool everywhere, simply cut the tongue off, DIY style.
