Animals have emtions!
We have had dogs for almost 20 years and each has had its own personality, moods and each has been depressed when one of our other dogs died :(
And they dream too! That was one of the big surprises I found with our first puppy!
She is wrong.

Ialso would not buy this, on te contary,as animals act on more primitive cortical information,it is ore than likely, that emotions play an even more important role, as they do in (most) men. there is a difference in each class, dogs are usually more emotional as cats towards men, so cats are probably more intelligent:-) I do not know about snakes, frogs and insects, becouse their brain mass is much smaller and I would not be able to interpret theit action regard their emotions. they are also further down the line of evolution. perhaps dolphins would make a good study object, as they are the only mamils who have sex just for fun:-) don't ask socialworkers such Qs

What this so-called social worker told you falls under the category of: HOG WASH!! YES, aminals (at least cats and dogs) DO have emotions! They may have different ways of showing them, but if you know your "furry friend" well enough, YOU can tell when the animal is happy, sad, depressed, scared, etc. Here's just ONE example for you: My male cat is somewhat spoiled, but he's more dependent on ME than he is spoiled. I've had several people tell me that if anything ever happened to ME, that my cat would go into one of his dpressions and die. Unfortunately, I believe this is TRUE--he is a total "mommy's-boy". And, yes--he DOES go into episodes of depression. I know him well enough to be able to tell what is causing these---most often it's when he wants to go to the groomer and have is hair cut down to the bare-minimum. This is a Turkish Angora (exceptionally long hair)--who shouldn't have been born as a long-haired cat--he HATES it! I don't like it any better (even though he is beautiful when he's all grown out and fluffy)--but, I don't like it because it costs me $50 per trip to the groomer! But, it's worth the $50 to bring him out of his pitiful state of depression. This is only ONE aspect of cat emotions. How often have you heard of a dog/cat owner who died, and their pet died shortly thereafter, and there was nothing wrong with the animal? This was not due to some medical problem--they stop eating, drinking, etc., and will themselves to die. So, your social worker there, as far as I'm concerned, is FULL OF IT!

yes of course your right. your case worker has been taught by some religious organization that passes on this belief so that when you kill an animal for reasons other than needed food source ....they don't have to have accountability!! there is NO reason or document or studies to show that animals are non- feeling or non- reasoning beings . it shows the opposite...that all animals ARE feeling and have ...also show....feelings. for there family ,group, self and young!! some say there are animals that recognized a higher being or god and give thanks . wow blew that thought process of the hardened case worker right out the door. that lady should not be around humans. sounds like her job has hard-end her. she should go work in some other type of job. don't listen to "EAR TRASH" when your heart tells you different.

That lady is full of S*%#$. I had an awesome white cat named Ices, she would try to make me jeoulous by going over to my husband and purring the loudest she could purr, even meow. When I would look over at her she would have this almost smirk on her face until I called her over. She would spite me by sharping her claws on the couch and then drag her nail down slowly until she got my attention. She new if she laid on my keyboard I would have to quit typing, even if it was to throw her across the room (lol, not literally). She knew what cabinant we kept her treats and she would open the cabinant and pull just her treats down and even figured out how to open them. She was vindictive and sneaky, but she also got depressed when our male cat went to get fixed. She slumped around our apartment until he came home and then showered him with licks when he was still groggy. She loved to get her picture taken and posed for the camera. Unfortunantly, she also was an instigater and she got mauled by what used to be a friendly dog. Social workers are trained to believe what they are suppose to believe, according to a human social worker, a nine month old child is suppose to be drinking from a normal glass or they are classified "a slow learner"

Yes they do!!! Animals mourn the loss of a mate as well as the loss of their human family. My grandmother has a cat that was only a few years old, when my grandmother died this cat looked all over the house for her and cried this pitiful cry for days. I finally got the sweater she always wore and the cat slept on that for months.

Animals do have emotions. They are all capable of feeling love, fear, jealousy, grief etc. Just because they may express those emotions in a different way to humans, doesn't mean they don't have feelings.
The articles "Do Cats Have Emotions" and "When Cats Grieve" make interesting reading.

About 50% of my friends all have a pet (me included) and we all talk about our pets moods from time to time.I have a kitty and I can tell when he is happy and when he is grouchy. When I'm sad my cat will actually try to comfort me.Don't listen to ppl that say pets don't have emotions cause they don't know what they are talking about.

WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP! 12 months ago my cousin committed suicide, i was devastated, and my 2 dogs would not leave my side, and they were different towards me, they knew i was sad and so were they.they have all the same emotions as we do, its just not as easy to tell how they feel at the time, cause they cant tell you.
