I have a 5 month old male kitten and very noticeable hanging down under is tummy is what seems to be a growth.
I'm not sure if this normal, extra skin to grow into maybe, but wasnt sure if it needed a vet trip to investigate further.?

My momma cat used to not eat all her food in one sit, until she became pregnant. The kittens are almost 4 months, and momma is a chunky kitty and has lost her kittenish figure. :D I know this is not healthy for her.

I have been feeding her small portions throughout the day, because I need to feed the kittens several times a day. Her portion doesn't equal more than one full bowl a day, well, maybe a little more, but not much more, and not less. I thought if I fed her that way, rather than giving her 2 meals (1/2 bowl each time) she would lose weight. She is not active, i have no idea how old she is. I found her, or rather she found me. lol. She plays so little, that a few times I saw her running with the kittens, it shocked me pleasantly. She doesn't work off her calories. Help! What I do? I can't leave food down for the kittens, she will eat it, and I have to watch her so she will not get their food when she finishes hers.

So my cat is now a year and a couple months old. she has thing need to bit. i think its more of a security blanket for her.. some cats like to lick people my cat always has to bite my arm or hand or nose or chin.. she does it and ive been trying to get her out of it since she was a little kitten when i first bought her. as i was typeing this actually she bite the top of my hand really hard.. shes not playing but shes not fighting when he does it.. she licks then bites and i dont understand her need for it nor do i know what to do anymore. She knows its wrong because everytime i get mad at her for biteing me so backs away for a few seconds and then slowly trys to do it again in a minute or two once she thinks im not paying attention but shes laying on me so its hard for me not to notice that shes going to try it. is there anything you have tried that stopped ur cat from biting? any suggestions might help... thanks

I have 2 new female kittens and everytime a turn on the Animal Planet they stop what they are doing and watch - well if they are awake. When I change the channel they go back to what they were doing. I have done this several times to test the theory and it works. Subliminal sounds and messages? Anyone experience the same?

We have a stray kitten we've been taking care of for about 2 weeks. She's about 4 or 5 weeks old now...so would it be okay to give her a bath? She's about to start eating dry food too. But, do you think it'd be okay to do that, and then use a flea comb to help get the fleas off? If so, what kind of shampoo, that I can get ay Pets*Mart, Target, or Wal*Mart?

Love animals so would not want to harm them in anyway. 40 cars to choose from but they always pick mine! I would not mind but it is the scratches they leave on the roof & bonnet. The muddy paws marks I can clean! I have just changed cars but thismorning there were Paw marks Everywhere, lol Why mine?

As much as I dislike cats, isn't it nice when you're holding one and they purr and head-butt you the way they do?

Our kitty was at the vet's office this morning and she was prescribed Metacam (for pain), Baytril (for infection), and a laxitive to help her stomach. The diagnosis was that she had an inflamation in her anal glands that prevented her from having bowel movements; this caused pushing on her bladder which created her infection. Anyway, she has been very lethargic (difficult to wake) and she has something that appear to be spasms in her sleep. She was given the Metacam via injection at 11:30am and we gave her the Baytril at noon, and she has had 2 doses of the laxative. I assume it is not the laxative because they generally do not have severe side effects. Could this be a side effect of the medication? I plan on calling the vet first thing in the morning to discuss this with him, but we would like some peace of mind tonight. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

the other cats here have flatworms (intestinal paracite). He is still eating which makes me rule out liver toxicity. Dunno. Has lost #, as well as other cats and now can feel his backbone. No other signs noted.

She apparantly forgot her litter box training and was jumping up in my boys crib like she owned the world. Sadly we had to give her up to a shelter. Is this typical cat stuff? We really tried to make things work. we loved her.. but it really came down to a choice between a kid and a cat. Was I just a bad kitty dad?

Four of them can be in the same crate - the rest must be separated. What is the best/cheapest way to house them? They will travel up to 10 hours one day and 8 hours the second.

We're considering adopting a cat. I've always had dogs but feel a cat would better fit our lifestyle. As a potential first-time cat owner, I've been doing some reading on cat behaviour, and there seems to be a LOT of mention of aggression. Is this typical of cats? Is it just a given that cats will bite and scratch, or is this something found (as in dogs) periodically with some individuals?

Any help would be appreciated.

now think that she was totally lying to me. The cat wont come near me. She is 3 1/2 years old and wont come to me or anything. She is an inside cat and has toys and all she could want. She will meow and when I go to play with her or give her attention she just runs away. She wont let me even get close enough to pet her. I love her but it seems to be so so much work and no enjoyment at all. I want to have a pet that will be a bit of fun and I am thinking that she was abused at some point. I just think that after 6 months shouldnt she be used to me by now? it just doesnt seem normal to me. I want to get rid of her and feel that I have been patient enough. I find absolutely no enjoyment in having her and dont know where to get rid of her. I find myself going to bed at 9 pm so I can shut her up.. She wont meow when the lights are off... What to do??????

its my grandparents and they dont wanna use ones they have used before with other cats. here are the ones they have used: tippy, blacky, panda and panther. i am thinking feather, since his tail is a bit fluffy and looks a little like a feather, well at least to me anyways, :D. or what about socks, since his paws look a little like he's wearing socks? or how about mittens? AND if possible could they be cute names? thanks.

My cat has a "tail-chasing" disorder and the only way I can help her is to give her half of a tiny pill everyday, but so far she's not eating them. I've tried disguising it inside a treat, lunch meat, and I even grounded it into a powder and mixed it in some wet food. My friends have told me that I have to put it on the back of her tongue or dilute it in water and squirt it down her throat, but she is a VERY aggressive cat. I would appreciate any suggestions.
