WORM HER!!! goodness. put the worm medicine (i believe you can buy this medicine at a pet store over the counter) in her food and the other cat's as well. Take the poor thing to the vet to get checked out too. A stray that you found in the street can carry all kinds of things that can spread to your other cat, so get her to a vet and have her vaccinated and spayed. and no...it's not likely that you will catch the worms from her, but your other cat can....take the baby to the vet, please

Yes, you can buy deworming medication OTC at the pet store, but I don't recommend that option at this point. There are many different types of worms. They are not transmittable to humans, and even if you were to ingest the eggs, they cannot feed off of you, so you would simply pass them out. Your other cat however, probably already has the parasite as well at this point. You'll need to take them both to the vet. Bring a fecal sample with you to the vet so that they can do a fecal test to decipher exactly which parasite the cats have and can treat accordingly. Do this as soon as possible. Good luck. And please DON'T LET THEM OUTSIDE, THAT WILL MAKE THINGS WORSE!

Your other cat may be more likely to pick up the worms than you. But you can get them too if it's in the bed near your mouth. Quick! Get your kitten to a vet tomorrow. You need to stop the life cycle now. Then do a lot of washing and vaccuming. Your vet will help.

Take her to the vet and get her wormed. or maybe you can get some kitty worming tablets from the pet store? And clean her kitty litter after each use. When she licks herself she's re-ingesting the eggs, I'd guess, perpetuating the cycle. Yes worms can spread. I'd treat both cats if I were you. Keep them out of the house until they've been fixed, at least out of your bedroom.

i could bypass to a diverse vet for a 2nd opinion if I have been you. it could be constructive in case you have a replica of the lab artwork effects and ought to take that to the recent vet. See what they say. With a heartworm interior kitty, i'm marvel that a vet could propose surgical operation - the middle won't be waiting to maintain decrease than anesthesia. I easily have heard that a cat heartworm lives purely for some months, decrease than a year; regardless of the undeniable fact that it relatively is the debris of the ineffective malicious application interior the cat's coronary heart that could reason massive hassle. i'm sooooo sorry that this had to ensue to you and your poor kitty. easily, no you may blame you for something - you have already spent mega dollars and the analysis from the vet remains no longer good. yet once you and your kitty can bear it, why no longer seek for a 2nd opinion? there may be different strategies.

Take your cats to the vet to get meds to rid the cats of the worms. Your own health could be at risk if you dont get them treated. Dont be tempted to buy any product over the counter in a pet shop, they are not strong enough and dont work. Good luck with your Kittys.

the cats will both have worms so when you go to the vet to get the worm medication (that is the only medicine that will work) you must treat them both...if they have worms they probably have fleas as well (that is usually where worms come from) so pick up some advantage or frontline while you are at the vet

Just make an apppointment to take her to the vet ( she will need shots and spay surgery anyway)They will worm her.If you don't know what kind of worms she has, then you could buy a wormer at the store that won't work. And,yes, some worms you can catch, but it's pretty rare. But,your other cats can catch them.

You'll need to deworm both cats not just the stray and get the dewormer from the vet. Also, fleas can spread tapeworms, so you need to treat them for possible fleas, both cats.

yes worms can spread, and yes you can get them too!!!! gross I lknow, but the remedy is pretty easy and relatively cheap. take your cat to the vet and have it dewormed. you can sometimes even get the medicine to give the cat without even having to take it in.
goodluck
