the other cats here have flatworms (intestinal paracite). He is still eating which makes me rule out liver toxicity. Dunno. Has lost #, as well as other cats and now can feel his backbone. No other signs noted.

i have to do it myself, it's my bro's cat and he says he's old and is just waiting for him to die. What can I do 4 him. I can't even pay my medical bills let alone a stray. Anybody want to adopt him and the vet bills if he is going to die anyway? He can afford it, not me. His motto is ignorance is bliss and from old school where sick animals were shot.

I don't know what else it would be other than liver disease.if you could get some Milk Thistle and N-Acetyl Cysteine and give him small doses everyday, along with a high quality protein diet,he might improve, but the vet is your best bet.Is there anyone you can borrow money from to take him? Where do you live that cats get flatworms? Are you sure it's not a liver fluke? The cat may just need some type of antihelminthic and some antibiotics. He may be in pain, and that's not pleasant.Your brother shouldn't have animals if he doesn't want to take care of them.I'd call the ASPCA on him,I wouldn't care if it was my brother!

Yellow gums or yellow in the whites of the eyes or at the base of the ears is called jaundice in cats. Jaundice is not a disease but a symptom. The yellow gums are not as serious as the possible diseases that are associated with it. There's many causes of jaundice but it could be related to worms. Hookworms attach themselves to the lining of the stomach and intestine and rob an animal of vital nutrition. Hookworms are blood parasites. They feed on blood. They can cause anemia and diarrhea. If untreated they can damage the cats immune system making it hard for them to fight off any kind of disease.
If you're seeing yellow gums it's because red blood cells are being broken down. While a blood parasite could be the cause of jaundice there are many other possible reasons.
Here's a link where you can learn more about jaundice:

Please take the cat to the vet.

If you don't want your cat to die, he needs to see a vet ASAP. This is not a "yahoo answers" question. This is a question to ask your vet. Just because he's eating does not rule out liver problems and you also said he is losing weight which is an obvious problem.

it relatively is staggering, bypass forward and do it! i'm 13 and that i think of that's a very good thought, possibly I could try this for my 14th b-day social gathering this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days... besides, hi kitty isn't in simple terms for little ladies, its a nicely prevalent sort that all human beings loves, which comprise young human beings and adults. it relatively is cute~ and if persons discover it weird and wonderful, forget approximately them who cares! that's YOUR social gathering, dont permit persons dictate it. If human beings get weirded out that's their difficulty. edit: dont hear to persons here, I in simple terms study the different solutions and that i cant have faith it.. particularly that woman who cheered it? wth..

You need to get him to a vet asap. There are many diseases that cause weight loss, and some that change the color of the gums or tongue. Some of these diseases are contagious to other cats. Please see a vet asap.

eating doesn't rule out liver issues - take him in and have a cbc panel done on him as soon as you can. he's not doing well and needs that to establish a diagnosis. good luck.
