My cat has a "tail-chasing" disorder and the only way I can help her is to give her half of a tiny pill everyday, but so far she's not eating them. I've tried disguising it inside a treat, lunch meat, and I even grounded it into a powder and mixed it in some wet food. My friends have told me that I have to put it on the back of her tongue or dilute it in water and squirt it down her throat, but she is a VERY aggressive cat. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Cedrick was very smart about his pills. I tried the treats, but he would eat around the pill. I would get frozen shrimps. Cut them in half (when unfrozen) and gently make a hole in the middle and put the pill in it. It seems like a lot of work, but he would be so happy to have his twice a day shrimps.

The secret then is to keep the mouth closed and gently stroke the throat which forces the cat to swallow. Then follow up with a favourite treat.
I have also tried dissolving it in " tuna juice" ( the liquid from canned tuna in water) and then putting it in with an oral syringe.

well, if u do have to squirt it down her throat, wrap her in a towel until only her head is showing. it'll will help u control her and keep u from getting scratched.
if she won't take it disguised then u could try it in peanut butter, or something that once it's in her mouth, she's not spitting it out. or u could grind it into a paste and put it on the top of her paws. her grooming will force her to swallow it. just make sure it's a paste, and on top of her paws so she can't rub it off on something. that's how i get my cat to eat mayo when she has a hairball.

I had a cat who was very docile, but turned into a wild cat when I tried to pill her. She, too, wouldn't take it in food. You need to force her mouth open and drop the pill at her throat, then hold her mouth shut while gently stroking her throat to force her to swallow. Sorry, that's the only way to go. You can get a little contraption called a "piller" to help do that.

Hold your cat in a towel since it's aggressive (so she can't scratch you) and put the pill in her mouth then hold it shut. Be careful not to cover her nose so she can breathe! Wait until she swallows it and then let her go. It's as simple as that!! :)
Keep in mind that giving her something she doesn't want it is unpleasant for both of you, and there's no easy way to do it if she doesn't want to take it.

ask ur vet for a "pill shooter" the device will cost about 2 dollars.coat the pill with margarine and insert into end of pill shooter.press plunger,shoot pill.if cat squirms,get someone else to hold cat.good luck.i was always able to eventually get the cat to use the pill shooter without being agressive.it works,and its quick!good luck.
