My daughter and I adopted a 2 year old male cat one week ago. The cat was rescued with a broken leg 1 year ago and lived at Save a Pet for one year. The first night home, he laid on my bed or in the window and let us hold him and pet him. Since the very next day, he is always hiding. When I do get him out, he lets me pet, brush, and hold him. He purrs and purrs and loves it. Then, all of a sudden, he will just take off. He has never come to me willingly, I have to physically grab and pick him up (from hiding under the bed, behind the tv,etc).
The volunteers at the shelter said he is a lap cat, but I don't see that side of him.
I was told the other day not to force him out and now the only time I have seen him in the last 3 days is when he eats or runs to use his litter.
Is there anything I can do to help him adjust? I don't want him to be so scared and secluded. He was not like that at the shelter. Am I doing something wrong?

I was thinking of buying a Persian cat. This lady breeds persians. She offered me a persian for 300 but when I look at the picture of the cat, he looks like a mixed breed of tabby and Persian. He has the persian face but tabby colors. She is selling her other cats for much more and is giving me a discount on this one. What do you think? Is he worth $300?? Thanks!

My favorite animal has always been a cat. My friend is selling purebred bengal kittens that are worth $600 dollars for $100. I already have one cat but really want one of these because they are so cute. Everyone in my family wants one except my dad because we already have a cat. How can I convince him to let me have one? Begging and always asking him don't work, they will just get me in trouble.

First of all i live out in the country and just about 4 days ago i found a little black cat maybe about 5-7 months old and it looked very fat, i took some food outside for my neutered male to eat and i called him and the black cat immediately came towards me ,she wasnt even scared , she was starving. She finished the whole thing ,my male cat doesnt even finish the whole thing. So im thinking she is pregnant.I plan on keeping her.I'll post some pics so you guys can judge from them if you think she is pregnant.

My cat had a litter 4 weeks ago and is currently nursing. When the kittens are old enough my partner wants to have her spayed, I know its the right thing to do but I feel SO terribly guilty, I can just imagine how scary and traumatic it must be for them. She's not the friendliest cat as it is and I dont want her to be p*ssed at me. Will she hate me?

I have never seen my cat blink, wondering what the biological reasoning for that is, or what their alternative is?

We lock him out because he won't stop playing on the bed and bothering us in the morning, while we are trying to sleep. He has decided that in order to get our attention he will sit outside the bedroom door and meow, as well as scratch the hell out of the carpet and door. Anyone have any good solutions for this? I've thought about putting him in his portable crate when he does it, but I know he would cry a lot.

The line I'm particularly interested in is under Hematology. It reads: "ABS Lymphocytes 1428 (L) /ul 1500-7000"

Is this a reading that should raise some concern? By the way, my Cat has FIV. She's an 8 year old female in otherwise good health.

Thanks very much for your time:)
