Sounds cute! :) We adopted two cats from a breeder last year, and they were supposed to come well-adjusted and socialized, so no inappropriate behavior and such. Weren't we surprised when, about five months in (curiously, not too long after we got the second kitty), our first guy decided to start jumping straight from the floor into people's arms--even if they weren't looking. Or should I say *especially* if they weren't looking. Like your little kitten, it was his way of saying that he wanted love and attention. Not that this will work for your "climbing up the leg" problem, but with ours, we taught him not to jump unless we pat our leg when we see him get that twinkle in his eye...has helped avoid the surprise of him jumping onto grandma's chest while she's not paying attention (ha!), and still allows our kitty to show his owners who is boss and gives him a special way of getting affection (since our other bossy cat won't jump up). Pretty cute, and a neat trick to show off to friends :) Good luck with your little one!

She thinks you are Mom. Her mother was on the same level with her face. You are a weird looking tall cat, but, you will have to do. So she is trying to get up to your face, so she can breathe your scent better. Put a drop of milk on your finger and she will suck, just like you were mom. You will need to train her not to climb, cause she will ruin your clothes and make your friends angry. When she starts to climb, tell her no, and then lay down to be on her level. When she quits trying to climb, you can pick her up or whatever. Good Luck!

just wants to be close. it scared and she must like U! lol our male cat we put down in dec. would do what i called Flying kitty....he would be sitting on the floor and throw is front legs out and JUMP straight up in to ur arms.....the only time he clawed ya was if well u wasn't ready...for the flying crazy cat...lol. it was annoying...but i miss it.
u have 2 choices here either u incourage it by letting her do it and training her a command for it...or u train her not to....it simple just take her off ur leg tell her FIRM no...walk away....no attention. then call her and play or what ever....but cats are smart and i find harder to train then dogs who want to please...while cats could care less...and females i think are even harder to train then the male cats all my male cats are trained to do something...but anything like that is beneath the females...lol. except maybe the new female we just got..she's a bit nutty....
ohhh and good on u...u went to a shelter!

Shame, kitten wants to be close to your face, LOL! Don't be scaredm it's just a wee thing wanting attention. Having just left her litrtermates, she'll meouw for a bit longer though, just bear with her and she'll be fine, keep her playing, and keep her occupied and she'll adjust in no time.

It is saying please hold me and love me. Pick me up or I am going to climb up. OK her I come. If she starts climbing your leg, gently remove her and tell her no. It hurts a lot when they get older and do that. Don't worry, she will get the hint after a couple of times of you telling her no.

welcome to the Mother of Cats Club,, this is the usual demanding way of say "Pick me up Now""" the meowing at the door mean "out now " and the middle of the night meowing is usually the 'I'M BORED" response,, very annoying at 3am.. kittens really need to be held and touched alot so go ahead and love away to your hearts content,, its just going to make you both happy..

She just wants loving...my kitten did the same thing. Cute until the claws dig into your leg...she'll grow out of it.

It wants some attention. If you just got it from a shelter, it's starved for affection ... pick it up!
