The fleas have probably infested your house, you'd have to GoomFog them or something.

Ok first of all, it's a common myth that indoor animals can't get fleas - they most certainly do! Fleas can enter houses through windows and doors, and they do looking for food and warmth, which your house and your pets provide.

So far you've used products that aren't really going to work. Sadly, few people are aware that the products sold in pet shops and supermarkets are very ineffective - shops are not licensed to sell the appropriate drugs for flea control.

You need to stop by a vets to get some flea treatment that WORKS. This will be a spot-on for your cat - Frontline is the best and most popular, Revolution is good and also treats tapeworms. These treatments are just drops in a pipette that you apply to the skin on the back of your cat's neck - cats hate getting wet as you've observed, so no flea shampoos!

You also need a spray for your house. Again, get one from the vet - you may need to spray and then vacuum, and repeat this treatment a few days later to be sure you've got the fleas that have hatched from eggs in the meantime.

Fleas have complicated lifecycles that can be hard to break, but the products available in vet practices are specially formulated to do just this, so use them and you'll be flea fre. Promise!

Don't mess with giving those poor cats a bath. I haven't seen very many cats that do like a bath.

Go to your vet and buy some medicine that you just put on your cat's coats. Frontline is one brand and Advantage is another . Ask your Vet what they suggest for cats? You put this medicine between the cat's shoulder blades. This medicine you can apply on your cats once a month. It is according how much your cats weight as to what dosage they get. This will get rid of the fleas and any others that might get on them. It is also good for ticks !!
Weigh your cats tonight then go to the Vet tomorrow and buy the flea meds before you take your cats back home. Ask your Vet how long it will take before the fleas are killed.
Good Luck
You can carry fleas on your shoes. They multply very fast.

Flea collars/sprays/powders are poison. Your dog has an open incision so any poisons that you put on her have a direct way to enter her body. I wouldn't do it. Truly the bath is a better idea. Warm water onto her incision will not hurt it at all. (No high pressure, no hard rubbing). Get a mild dog shampoo at any retail store (while you are there get a flea comb).. Don't use people shampoo. Wash your dog in a warm place with no drafts. Dry her gently with towels and keep in a warm area until fully dry. Comb her with flea comb, killing the fleas you catch (you can dip the comb in rubbing alcohol to kill the little devils or you can squish them with your fingernails or tweezers). Fleas like dirty dogs. You can apply a thin layer of antibiotic ointment to the incision when you are all through. Vacuuming the floors is very important

Get a good flea treatment from the vet, like Advantage or Revolution. DO NOT buy the tubes of flea treatment from the grocery store, as some of these have ingredients that are toxic and sometimes deadly. You should keep treating them at least through the warm months if not all year, because you can actually track flea eggs in on your shoes. You didn't do anything wrong, it isn't uncommon for indoor only cats to get fleas. Keep them treated and it will never happen again.

Get some spot-on treatment such as Advantage (not Advantix, for dogs, which can kill your cats.) or Frontline and use according to directions. The fleas should be off of your cats or dead within 24 hours.

Advantage works well and lasts for about a month. You have to get it from your vet and apply it to the back of the cat's neck. Get one for each cat, don't try to get out cheap and split one. You can also buy a flea comb pretty cheaply and comb them, disposing of the fleas. The only real surefire way to get them off and keep them off, is Advantage or Frontline. In my experience, Advantage was better for fleas and Frontline was better for ticks.

It is possible to bring them in on your shoes, etc.

Just go get some advantage or frontline from your vet, that will clear them right up.
