I have a male cat who loves to be petted with the foot. Some times he playfully bits it, or hangs on to your foot as it goes by him with his paws. He loves to be petted on the stomach and side. Even when it isn't a change of season, when he isn't shedding, he still loves it. SHould I keep petting him like that, or pet him with my hand even though he hates it?

I love my cat so much and I'm worried about feeding her poisoned food. Is there anything else that would be healthy for her to eat? Maybe something organic that isn't made by a big manufacturer?

My Cat Whitey is a solid white female who is about 2 yrs old and cries to come in the room to sleep with me. She likes to jump on the bed with me. I have a blanket that she usually lays on and it has to be nice and neat. If its not nice and neat the way she likes it, she will not lay on there. She starts to look at it and cry until u fix it the way she likes. When u are thru fixing it nice, not wrinkle. Then she lays on there and she scoots right close to me. Any Opinions about Whitey and please no rude answers. Thanks.

My cat looks very pregnant and is 1 year and 2 weeks old. She is not spayed and I have a male cat who is not neutered. I would love for her to have kittens but I only want 1 litter of kittens and plan to spay her afterwards. Her ribcage sticks out, and her abdomen is swollen. Her nipples are much longer and pink and are missing fur around them. She's losing fur like crazy on her belly. I have not been giving her any treats and can food, so I don't think the weight gain is from her being overweight. She's been sleeping most of the time through out the day and it's very unusual for her because she loves to keep active. I'm pretty sure she's pregnant, but how can I tell for sure besides going to the vet? What are labor signs also? Is it possible for cats to have more than 8 kittens and what is the largest litter a cat has had? Thanks for your input. All postings critiquing me about breeding my Erin will be reported. Have a good day.

Ok, this whole recall thing is getting worse and worse. It was bad enough when people's beloved pets were getting ill and dieing. It got ten times worse when I found out Menu Foods knew about this since December. I felt sick to my stomach when I read that the company started testing the tainted food on healthy cats and dogs, killing 6 out of every 10. Now it's coming out that rat poison may be in the food!

Something is seriously wrong here. Is it just me or did Menu Foods intentionally lie to everyone that the problem was wheat gluten when they knew in the first place it was rat poison? Anybody else have the feeling the whole wheat gluten story was just a lie and maybe Menu Foods never intended to admit it was rat poison? When the government stepped in and conducted its own testing did that "force" the truth out of this horrible company?

Why is it that cat haters started there "cat hating" because one cat did something mean to them in self-defense, but yet when a dog does that to them they don't hate all dogs. Why do you think this is?

She's around 15 years old, and quite recently, she's been drinking a lot more water than she used to. Also, when you feel her, you can easily feel the bones with nothing much in between the bones and the skin. She's gradually become less timid about going upstairs, where the dogs usually are, and I haven't noticed any difference in urinating. What is the problem, and how do I fix it? Unfortunately, it'll have to be cheap, easy, and cannot involve taking her to the vet (if it were my choice, I'd be more determined to fix the problem, but it's my parents' choice, and they don't think it's worth it to save her if it costs much time/money). Also, it's going to be relatively impossible to give her shots, so that can't be done... is there something I can put in her food/water? I don't want to lose her, I've had her near all my life, so... can anyone help me?

I think my beautiful cat is pregnant. I have been keeping her inside with me unless I went out with her and she stayed right with me. I was planning on taking her to get spayed but kept procrastinating which is why I tried to make sure she did not get out. She DID get out a few weeks ago ( maybe 4 weeks ago?) and I didn't see her again for quite a few hours. I suspect she is pregnant. I feel guilty because I know there are too many cats in the world anyway but I would find the kittens good homes BUT the big problem is she is a young cat. I got her on July 22, 2006 and she was a small kitten at the time. So she is probably 9-10 months. As I was reading about cat pregnancy I keep seeing how dangerous for a cat and her kittens if the mom is under a year! Anyone have a cat who had kittens that was under a year old and everything turn out okay?????

Can anyone recommend something that you can add to litter that will actually WORK in helping deodorize the smell of urine? I change my litter weekly and scoop daily and use Fresh Step Clumping Litter w/ Odor Absorbing Carbon. I have tried just basic baking soda and have noticed that helps only a little

I have a hard problem saying no to ppl .... so now because of this problem, I am now stuck with these two cats. I love them dearly but they shed their fur all over my apt. What should I do?? Should I take them to the SPCA or should I try to give them back to the original owners? The reason why they don't want them anymore is because nicole is pregnant. What should I do??

I have a 1 1/2yr old calico who has an itching problem, it has gotten so bad she had a sore on the back of her neck the size of a half dollar. She has been to the vet, been on antibiotics, and some crazy happy liver pills. I have changed her diet to Wellness catfood by order of the vet. She is only indoors and does not have fleas. Is neosporin harmful to her if i use it for itching? Please help!!!

I know that rabbits can absorb them if conditions are unfavorable. Can a cat? I had a cat several years ago that had one kitten and then got pregnant again but she never had them. She got spayed eventually but that one kitten in the first litter was all she ever had.

Thanks to all who responded to my initial question on who to contact about the pet food recall. My cats are home, but not out of the woods, yet. I think I caught it early, but they will need blood tests for a long time. I have a lot documentation from my vet and he feels strongly the kidney failure was caused by the food. He will do whatever I need to help prove it! If it was rat poison, it would fit with the sudden onset of kidney failure.
I am grateful to hear from so many supportive animal lovers!
I will follow up on your leads as well as keep you posted how my "boys" are doing!!

Thanks!
