My grandaughter has a female cat that is mean to everyone in the house but her. This cat will growl and hiss at anyone that looks at her, She is very gental with my grandaughter. This cat has attacked my 4 yr old grandson many times. They have had her since she was a small kitten and has never been mistreated, so what is her problem? I do think they should get rid of her for the safety of the other kids but it would break her heart. If anyone has answers to help I would love to hear them. Please no silly remarks this is NO joke.

I was told that friskes cat food isn't really good for them. My cats eat friskies wet and friskies and whiskas dry cat food. They love the meaty morsels and the one with the carnation milk pieces. Is their any good brand of cat food out their that they may like thats not too expensive? Is whiskas just as bad as friskies? Help!

Kanamycin/Bismuth/Aluminum Magnesium Silicate (Amforol®)

Kanamycin is an antibiotic in the aminoglycoside class. Bismuth subcarbonate and aluminum magnesium silicate are antidiarrheals. The combination of these ingredients in Amforol is used for the treatment of susceptible intestinal bacterial infections and the associated diarrhea. Use caution when treating very young animals or those under 5 pounds, as the recommended dosage may produce kidney or hearing damage. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences hearing loss, loss of balance, increase or decrease in drinking, lack of appetite, vomiting, depression, or muscle twitching while being treated with the combination of kanamycin, bismuth, and aluminum magnesium silicate.

Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children and pets.

Stormy, Smokey, Misty

Whenever I got Misty, it was misting outside, barely raining; plus Misty's a grayish-whitish color. Whenever I got Stormy, was right in the middle of a thunderstorm; and she's a calico so her colors are all swirled like the wind blowing debris everywhere. And Smokey was rescued from a burning house; and she's also solid charcoal gray.

I took my Mojo to the vet the other day and she weighed 9 lbs. She is a fairly long and muscle cat, she doesn't look at all fat! Well the vet gave me the bad pet owner look and told me that she was 10% overweight! And that I should by this special expensive cat food sold at his office. He acted like being 9lbs for a cat was unacceptable. I don't have a lot of money so 20 bucks for a small bag is too much. I see nothing wrong with her, she is healthy and happy. Should I take his warning to heart or is he just trying to rip me off? What is too heavy for a cat?

She tries to cover it up once she's done. I don't understand why.
She has also been in heat A LOT lately. like almost 3 weeks out of the month. Is that normal?

My cat is 6 years old and is getting a blad spot behind his left ear.... like on top of his head. His fur is thinning out in a circle- the shape of it kind of reminds me of ring worm... but there is no crust on his skin or any other sign of irritation. I am 7 months pregnant.... should i rush my little one to the vet?

Are we part of therir pride? Are we bigger cats? Who's the Alpha leader, us or them? Are we just food and attention givers? Any thoughts or stories? I've thought about it but can't decide.

Thank you for the good responces to my plee for help, believe me, Frankie is so much more than a pet, I have no kids, they are my kids, I have cryed for 3 days, I can't quit, the Vet is doing everything possible to save my Frankie, we have taken him there everyday for fluid treatments, if he dies I will never get over it, I just want to stirke out at the person/people that are responcible for this cruel action, I think some of you got the wrong impression about me, I'm sorry for that, you have no idea how deeply this is hurting me, watching my cat suffer, hoping, praying for a miracle, now that we just found out it's rat poison I'm waiting for the vet to call me back to see what to do. I just wanted to say Thank-you for the notes of support from alot of you, and for the prayers, I hope none of you ever have to go through this, just imagine a 13 pound 22 month old cat (spoiled rotten) now only 8 1/2 pounds, crying for me to make him better, cuz' mom can fix everything right? Steina

Ok last night my cat gave birth to 5 wonderful kittens. You should be happy to know that i talked my mom into brining her inside, Even tho its very warm outside she and her kittens are safe. Right now they're eating and shes sleeping. Now for the question. We were trying to check to see the gender of the kittens. Is possible for her to have all girls? Thanks so much!

Our cats nails are so amazing sharp that she cuts everything, including making large snags in our blankets, and pulls strings out of our comforter. Anything we can do to help? We don't want to get them removed, because she may not always be an inside cat.

I have a new cat (almost a year old) that pants heavily with her mouth open when she plays a lot and is exerted. She also purrs VERY loudly, almost a snoring-noise, when she's sleeping.

Well, she just went in to be declawed and spayed/neutered, did fine right after the surgery, and now the Doc says she's breathing with her mouth open, which causes him concern.

I told him she does that when tired out, and he says this is a red flag... it could just be asthma (which he says is quite rare in cats) or possibly an enlarged heart.

Which is more likely? We're newly married and have very little income to spend on vet bills... is it worth keeping her? Will it cost us a billion dollars to keep her healthy or should I give her to someone else?

Does anyone have any other ideas of what it could be?
