There will probably be a class action suit against Menu Foods. Unfortunately, in many states, companion animals are considered "property". Recovering quite often is only for reimbursement of vet bills, etc. Emotional distress often is not considered in the death of a companion animal. Time for people to change the law regarding animals. As far as I am concerned, they are just as valuable as humans...and often times, more so. Call an environmental/animal lawyer..or animal welfare lawyer. The Humane Society and PETA could provide you with a list of attorneys who specialize in animal law in your area. Pick a good attorney...and document, document, document EVERYTHING.

The recalled food is causing kidney disease and/or failure. It is not causing diabetes. It is very unlikely you have grounds for a lawsuit, as there is no evidence showing those foods caused any type of pancreatic insuffiencies (the organ the controls insulin production).

That sounds like diabetes, not kidney failure. Unless it can be determined that the rat poison in the food caused it, that's going to be tough

i think that you should take into consideration that you could help ruin 50,000 peoples lives by being one to sue. I am sorry about what happened to your animals but you have to relize what is more important getting money for helping ruin 50,000 peoples lives or your cat. But getting another cat will help belive me i have lost alot.

it was not rat poison but was too much Vitamin D in the product, too much is causes immunity problems and have caused death/illness in at least 1700 of our pets. at least 845 animals are dead because of this.
