How many kittens come in a litter?

How can you be sure your cat is pregnant without taking it to a vet?

If my cat is pregnant and she delivers how do I help her take care of the kittens without making things worse... and how long do I do these things for?

Question No. 1: Litters can range from 2 - 6, but it depends on variables. Has your cat ever had kittens before? Is it a big(ger) cat? Older?

Question No. 2: A sign that a cat is pregnant is (of course) the rounding/dropping of the belly and the cat's nipples getting bigger.

Question No. 3: The mother cat normally lets nature take its course and cares for its own. All you should do is give the cat a warm, comfortable environment (perhaps a blanket in a low box). Our cat found a secluded area in the basement where it was dark. The kittens should stay with the mother until weaned - eight to twelve weeks.
