All the bad stuff has been pulled off the shelves so you are okay as far as soft food goes. However, with kittens feeding only soft food will cause their teeth not to be strong - it won't clean their gums and will cause wet, stinky diarrhea. You have to give her hard food too. Just soft food is not good for her. (Or your carpet once she tracks her runny poo all over the house).

If she isn't eating solids well maybe get formula or any soft food should be fine. If she is 7-8 weeks old she can probably eat dry food. Be sure to feed kitten food for the first year. If you are worried about any product you currently have being tainted go to that products website. The menufoods website might still be messing up, so go directly to the product site. The stuff you bought at the stores in the past day or two should be safe.

For dry food choose a kitten formula, only feed small amounts of soft daily. Do not give the kitten human foods!!! Can chicken, turkey contain way to much sodium and other ingredients that will cause problems. If you want to feed natural food check out the web site enclosed below. Very little human tuna because of the mercury content. Good luck.

While you search for a 'safe" cat food.
You can feed a kitten human food such as tuna, canned soft turkey or chicken. Also any type of meat you are preparing for dinner before it is seasoned.
Don't however give it Milk because the molecular structure in cows milk is to hard on the digestion for kittens and gives them diarrhea.
KMR is a kitten milk formula that you can by at a pet store.
Good Luck with your little kitty- sounds like your a good owner:)

Don't worry about it! First of all, I buy my cat Fancy Feast. She absolutely loves it! Also, be sure to buy some dry kitty treats! All the poisoned cat foods have all been taken off the shelves. Also, Fancy Feast comes in tiny little cans just perfect for 3 meals for a kitty. Friskies is also good, but the cans are too big. Also, kittens don't really like it but adult cats are fine with it. Good luck!

Wellness is a great brand and it is not on the recall list! It is pricey but it is humane-grade food... Grain free, by-product free, and corn free! Im switching my cats from dry to a wet/dry combo (was using Nutro) using Wellness! Ill post the link! I studied this brand and it is healthy, has no un-necessary fillers, and it was highly recommended to me!
