Cats - March 2007

lately I have been just lounging around my house after I get out of the shower, and after watching T.V. for a litle while I will start to feel a tug at the back of my head, and sure enough, whenever I turn around it is my cat clawing and biting my hair.
What is it that makes my cat feel the need to style my hair and leave it smeling like cat food?

her teeth. She no longer eats DRY cat food, and very finicky about moist cat foods. now with all the deaths of these poor animals that ate everthing from Iams, to Walmart brands, are either dying or the vet bills are sky rocketing. My question is, what other types of food can I feed my cat. Other than her teeth, she's still heathy and playful. Tuna gets expensive after awhile.

My cat is about to be 5 years old. He does not have a UTI or a blockage. He's just a pain! I love him and do not want to get rid of him but, my husband says if he pees in the new house he's out! Help!

this has to do with what came up on the news recently of pet food causing kidney failure.... i have a cat, and I just want to make sure I dont feed him anything bad...
i kno theres a website mentioned on the news with the complete list, i just cant remember what it was.

My cat had blood work done in mid 12/06 everything came back great. Last week or so he was not eating and was just not himself. Took him to the vet and they said he has jaundice his ears and mouth is yellow. I was told he is too far gone and it is best to put him to sleep. He was given an I V and somthing to relieve his stomach. The vet also thinks he has a tumor. This is very upsetting as his brother died prior to Thanksgiving of cancer. In additon my husband adopted 2 kitten from North shore Animal and both had Feline Lukemia with in one week we came home to one dead and the other was put to sleep as he started to bleed from every part of his body. Unfortunally North Shore did not find the need to call when the whole litter had Feline Lukemia guess they thought we would figure it out on our own. My ? is he is a little better and now eating since he is home any sugguestions as I don't want to loose my baby but not looking for him to suffer either.

I have a pregnant cat who is 1yr old and some other cats who are about 6-7mths old. The pregnant cat is due any day. But one of the other cats keeps sucking on the pregnant cats nipples. She even lets her and grooms her as if she was her own. I don't know why either of them are doing this? Any ideas? I have tried taking her away when she sucks on them but just goes back to her and is greeted by the pregnant cat. Any ideas?

My cat's belly looks more round and her "tiddies" are dark red and are VERY noticeable now. Before this, she always wanted attention and now she want to be left alone. Plus, when she tries to walk she just falls right there and sits. Also, when I get to pet her she wnats me to rub her stomach. Could she be pregnant?

We are leaving on Friday morning and will return on Saturday evening, They are both neutered males, and occaisionally wrestle with each other. When we go to work during the day we put one in the basement ( it is finished and heated) with food, water, litter box and toys. I don't know if we should let them together unsupervised for that long, or seperate them.. Any advice???

Our male cat was a stray, about six years old, we took in about two years ago. He's not very aggressive. The female cat has not been spayed, but seems to have been dropped off because of how quickly she wanted to be petted. Is there a different combination of gender, etc., that works better together?

it sits outside the playgroup for two and a half hours and cries till my son comes out she follows me down my neibours house and sits outside till i go home she is more like a guard dog and she has to sleep on my 2yr olds legs at night shes a funny thing lol

if you know of any ways to tell if there are still kittens, i would love to hear from you. and yes i know i can take her to a vet but i am looking for ways to know without doing that. she is healthy and doing well with the first kitten, and i will take them both in to a vet in 4 to 6 weeks. so plz dont say take it to a vet.

In my apt. building there is a cat trapped in the wall. It has been there for several days and I can't find anyone to help rescue it. The management company does not care. It is due to their negligence that the animal got in this situation to start with.

Everything I give my cat to play with and use (stuffed mouse, foam pads to strengthen his nails) he will chew, swallow and puke-up later? He doesn't like small plastic chew toys. He's 7 months old with no playmates, except for me occassionally.

I thought I was safe,as I feed my cat wiska's and fancy feast. However I was cleaning out the cupboard last night, going to through away ANYTHING other than what I was feeding him. I found a pouch of NATURES CHOICE and wasnt even thinking as it WASNT on the last list I printed up. then,This morning I caught the news and it also included NATURES CHOICE, now I have 3 bags of trash in the garbage can,dont know WHICH one holds the pouch,SO what I need to know is,HOW LONG AFTER THE CAT EATS THE BAD FOOD will he SHOW signs of being sick. hrs,days,months????
