I say this to everyone who posts a question like this. Wait a couple of days to see what the kitty's personality is like. If you do this you will find the perfect name for your kitty. I didn't name my 2 little guys until the day after I got them. I watched them to see how they acted. I was putting names like Smokey, Midnight and other names out there and my oldest one didn't respond to a single one. I asked him if his name is Cupid and he meowed at me and put his belly in the air. I knew right there that it was his name. The name fits him to a tee. He is a little cuddler, but if he doesn't know you he is a meanie. My younger one looks like he is flying when he jumps so we named him Apollo. Good luck with the new kitty.

I would wait till she/he shows his/her personality.
I got a kitten in December of last year and it took me two weeks to name him. (just lift up the tail, and if you see hairy balls, its a boy). He is all black, one day I startled him and he turned sideways, hair stood up, back was arched, tail was up and bent just like the Halloween cat image, so I named him
Spook!

I could also name him , Assassin, cause he lays in wait till I walk by and attacks me.

Eather way male/female I would get him/her, spayed or neutered. I makes life easier for the pet and for the owner. But do it while there young so they don't know what there missing.

it doesn't have to be a human name, but a name that comments on the color of the cat or on HOW you got the cat, instead of its gender.

I named my white cat "sparkle" because, in spite of my very weak eyes, I was able to see him in a dark alley when the dim light of a lamppost glistening on its wet fur almost scared me to death as he was desperately trying to catch up to my hurrying husband one night as a weakened and frightened 2-week-old kitten. That "glistening" saved his life. I adopted him immediately.

For a girl cat, go for "pearl", "silk", "satin", "snowdrop", "shimmer", "ivory"

For a boy cat, go for "sparkle", "ashen", "silver", "snowy", "albino", "sallow"

You can try the dictionary or thesaurus to find other cool names. :)
