I have a pregnant cat who is 1yr old and some other cats who are about 6-7mths old. The pregnant cat is due any day. But one of the other cats keeps sucking on the pregnant cats nipples. She even lets her and grooms her as if she was her own. I don't know why either of them are doing this? Any ideas? I have tried taking her away when she sucks on them but just goes back to her and is greeted by the pregnant cat. Any ideas?

As long as the Mom is fit and healthy, let her go, it's good for them and they are bonding, she's adopted this kitten. Some kittens never grow up and she can smell the milk and thinks it's cocktails at the milk bar!!

You might need to watch when the kittens are born, however, I don't think you will have a problem, the kitten will probably help the birthing mom and help caring for the kittens too. Just watch carefully, it does happen where the kitten gets jealous and she could hurt the babies.

Other than that, let them go, it's doing them both good, it's making them happy.

It's not going to hurt the mother cat. It will allow her to be a even better mother. But you need to get mom fixed. Having on litter after another will drain mama cats bodies, cats are fixed tend to have a healthier life and they live longer. She will push them away when she feels they are taking too much from her. The nursing will also help her deliver when its time. When its time you might want to put mom in another room or even a cage when she starts to give birth, so her kittens and her have some private time to bond. Good luck and hope the new kitten are healthy and happy also.

This is natural and there is nothing wrong with it so let them do it.
Do you realize that for every 1 person born, there are 7 puppies and kittens
born? At best, 1 will find a forever home.
And don't forget, that every "Free-to-good-home" litter takes homes away
from animals already at the shelter.

STOP letting your pets; or your friends, relatives or co-workers pets
contribute to the problem.
If you love animals, it is NOT ENOUGH to merely say "My pets are fixed".
Vow to educate and enable others to fix their pets too.
Spaying just 1 female dog or cat, will prevent 6 others from ending up in a
shelter the following year.
Please be part of the solution, NOT the problem!
Thank you. ^..^

You should call your vet and ask him wht to do....(and calling would be free so you dont have to worry about any bills!) And a 7 month old cat might be nursing because she was taken from her mom too early....

PS I also have a 7 month kitty and a pregnant cat...
