I have a blind kitty that will only eat a certain sort of cat food and insists on being four feet from me or less when I'm at home - no matter what I'm doing. The cat food that the blind kitty likes is offensive to the other cat who comes by after the first cat leaves and "covers" the plate of food like it's something deposited in the litter box. She will compulsively do this for several minutes with a very determined look on her face.
Cats have their very own personalities and it's fun for me to hear other people's stories. Thanks for sharing yours.

you know, i think you're just gonna be stuck with a picky cat. i have a cat that won't step on a certain comforter. there are also certain foods she won't eat. i have tried the 'if she's hungry, she'll eat' thing..doesn't work. she just goes hungry. the only other thing i could say is try to just leave the blanket wrinkled and see if she'll stop. when she meows and you fix the blanket, she is being reinforced for meowing...that's why she continues to do it. remember, it will get worse before it gets better. dont' fix the covers, no matter what...DO NOT GIVE IN. give it a month or two and she'll at least stop meowing..she may not, however, ever get over stepping on the wrinkled blanket.
do some research on learning behavior and this may help you train the cat.

Oboy! You sure have a picky cat! I thought my Aby, Delilah, was bad! Our cat is very particular about her diet...she only likes people food (asparagus, tomatoes, shrimp tails, pasta, corn, peas, bananas, Cheerios)...but 'buries' her regular food all the time. She hates sushi (!), swordfish & hates lobster (our fave!). She likes lamb & yogurt, though. Our cat sleeps w/us no matter how messy the blanket is! Good luck w/your picky pussy! We sure love ours. LOL

Lol, thats so cute. My grandmothers cat is picky too. He will only eat Perdue chicken breast cooked perfectly, cut into tiny bits and reheated in the micro if its been in the fridge.
I remember...she once tried to give him Tyson and he refused to eat it.

ha ha ha... yes - cats do like to lay down in warm smooth surfaces. My own Kaffe likes for me to spread a blanket on his favorite armchair, smooth it out and patt is before he'd lay down on it. Spoiled rotten kitties, ah? But we do luv 'em so.

Well, I'm no cat expert, but maybe you should try taking her to the vet. There may not be anything wrong with her, maybe it's just her personality, or maybe she's sick or is having problems.

Animals have OCD more than people..also
Whitney knows she's "Mama's spoiled princess" just like with children they grow to expect that certain things must be perfect for them. To late to take her off her thrown now (trust me,I know with my kitty..)

nice story. thanks for sharing it. cats are cats are cats. that tells you a lot. how they were trained from being in the wilderness to a home atmosphere is amazing. PS. i think your article deserves the 10 points or rather your cat.
