The rat poison in the contaminated pet food causes kidney failure. The symptoms are: vomiting; loss of appetite; lethargy (no energy); frequent peeing; frequent drinking.

If your cats show any ONE of these symptoms, take them to the vet right away. If caught early, some cats survive.

I hope you have stopped feeding them the contaminated food!!!

I hope your kitties are OK.

Vomitting has been a common symptom with the recall. Be sure to take you cats to the vet immediately to get checked. Go now!

If your cat is sick then call your vet or a local emergency vet and take her in to get treated. The catfood that has been recalled is really disappointing but at least we know now that we need to throw the food away.

My cat was exposed to the recalled food twice but vomited and refused to try it again. I took him to the vet for an exam, and they did a blood test for renal (kidney) problems. I just learned today that he's fine.

If your cat is affected, it could suffer kidney damage or kidney failure. Kidney failure will kill the animal. Your best course of action is to take kitty to the vet.

get to the vet (if there are none open, then an animal emergency clinic) BEFORE you see symptoms!!!!! Because by time you start to see them it could be too late.
