1 How often do you scoop the litterbox?
2 How often do you change the litter?
3 How often do you completely clean the box?
4 How many cats do you have? Okay: how many food bowls? Water bowls?
5 How often do you set out wet food? Dry food?
6 Cat treats: how many, how often?

I'm just wondering if we're doing anything too infrequently, or... I realise there's advice for this sort of stuff on-line, but a lot of it doesn't really reflect reality.

Feel free to add things. Guardians of spoiled kitties may say "Massage is thrice-weekly, and I floss her teeth every Sunday," and non-chalant cat owners can go ahead and say "Huh? I have a Littermaid and an automatic feeding bowl which the cleaning lady deals with..."

Our cat is pregnant and is supposed to have her kittens any day now. However, about 2 weeks ago, we noticed a scab had developed just below one of the nipples on the bare part of the belly. We dressed it and cleaned it, thinking that she have caused a slight injury to herself.

It has gotten progressively worse until this morning, the scab is falling off, but there is alot of pus. The scab itself is still attached only by what can only be described as a "string of pus" that actually looks like it goes INTO her belly. There are no Animal Hospitals around us open today (Sunday). Any ideas whats going on and what we can do for her for now?

Also, she does not seem to be in any pain, she is eating, drinking, and having normal bowel movements. No vomiting or other symptoms of illness. If it wasnt for the fact that it looks so bad, you couldnt even tell there was something wrong.

She has some sort of fascination with my room, but I can't let her stay in there because it is where my bird lives and I have lots of small objects that could choke her. I've tried blocking the door, allowing her in to roam around while I watched her, and bringing her back out again, but nothing has been having any real effect on her. SHe still sits in wait outside my door, waiting for it to open.

about 3 minutes ago my cat was turning her head to the left and started shaking it as if shes having a seizure. i saw her do something like this earler but not so much as just now. my brother told me she was meowing alot before i got home also. i sat in front of her and held her head to see if shes ok. she didnt seem to look at me tho. and didnt show any signs of wanting to move. so i stood up and she started doing it again then brought her foot up to her ear and scratched it. could it be she was having a twitch from fleas irratating her or was she actuly having a little seizure and should i take her to the vets about it?

My cat is about 12/13 years old and I have recently noticed that she has a sort of lump/bump under her skin. It is quite hard but it doesn't bother her. I'm worried that it could be something bad like cancer. Should I take her to the vet?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

He is very litter trained but seems to try to punish when we do something he disagrees with. We got him and his sister from my Mom who is a Trucker. She would leave the cats at home for a day or two at a time and when she did this the male cat would poo on her floor next to the door. At Christmas we brought them home and the cat went a few weeks with out going on our floor. We thought he was happier with us being home everyday. However in his third week here I need the car and took my husband to work when I came home he had gone on the floor just inches from his litter box. Since that day it has gotten worse. Now if one of us is in the bathroom and he can not come in he will go and use the floor, and some times for no apparent reason when we are just sitting together on the sofa the smell will be awful and low and behold the cat has went on the floor again. This is getting very out of hand. I asked our Vet and she had no suggestions. I do not want to have to get rid of Him. HELP!

hi. i am 11 years old and i really want a cat. i believe i am responsible enough ( i wear contact lenses which require constant cleaning, and i have never once lost them or gotten an infection ) . i am moving to a new house this March and the backyard is a whole acre with lots of trees. only thing i wouldn't really like is that if it is an outdoor cat, there tend to be a lot of squirrels and birds so i am not sure exactly how that will work out... however if it is an indoor cat then it might poo all over the house and will be a trouble. but i really want one so can anyone please tell me the pros and cons of getting one. and if i do get one then could you tell me whether to have it indoors or outdoors? also one of my brothers has a slight fear of cats ( scared it will bite him. but than again, that's with ALL animals ). also include how to convince parents.

THANKS IN ADVANCE :-) ♥ ♥ ♥

The 1 year-old is a male and we've had him since he was 8 weeks old. We adopted a 5 month old female kitten last night. Lots of groweling and swatting going on by both parties.

We are in a studio apartment so there is only one room and separate bath (where we keep the litter box and food)

I know this can take a week or so for them to get used to each other, but do you have any ideas on how we can ease this for them?

I yelled at my cat when she pee on my bed for the third time. I was pretty loud and was a little rough when grabbing her off the bed. I felt bad after as I probably scared her pretty good. Now I'm wondering if she will hold a grudge and remember what I did, is there anyway to make it up to her?

Last week I noticed my 7 month old kitten limping. I thought she just took a bad jump, she's very active, so I let it go a few days. She seemed to favor one leg, then the other. I took her to the vet and he said she has luxating patellas (her knees pop out of place) and she was probably born predisposed to it genetically. He gave her a cortisone shot to bring down the inflammation. It didn't work. So, I'm taking her for xrays in two days. The vet had said that with this condition they can either give pain killers/NSAIDS, which can cause kidney problems in cats, or do surgery, which has mixed results. Does anyone know anything about this condition or have experience with it? Would the surgery be the best option now? I just want her to be able to run and jump like she used to, she's so young.
