She also snores a lot - not at the same time - but I wonder if it has to do with breathing. She is 5 yr old spayed female and has done this more within the past yr than previously. She seems well, eats well is not alpha cat but can hold her own. It does not seem related to illness so basicly I'm just wondering about a behavior.

I never really knew what breed my cat is. She's black and white.
We have acually given her the nickname of a "tuxedo cat" because she looks like a tuxedo! :)

I have to be out of town for a month and I haven't been able to find a cat sitter for my kitty, even though I asked around a lot and I offered to pay people. One person has offered to come by before and after her work to take care of his basic needs. I know she won't spend much time playing with him because she's busy and has a baby. A neighbor has also offered as a back up person, but she won't be able to spend more than the minimum time with him because of her allergies. He's an outgoing cat who likes a lot of attention. Is it better to leave him in his familiar home although he may be bored and lonely, or put him in the animal shelter with all the other cats? I'm worried he might feel abandoned. He's only three and has already changed owners twice.

our four year old cat has had a sore front left paw for about 3 weeks now, at first he wouldnt walk on it at all, now he tries... he does not cry, or show any pain, just when he is walking, he holds it up. I have checked the bottom of his pads, and his joints of the paw, and can't tell where it is bothering him. Not sure if we need to take him into the vet or not. He was declawed in the front paws as a kitten..has had no problems until now. He does try to still scratch at things with his two front paws as if there is no problem.... should we take him in?

I have a nearly 21 year old cat, and I was wondering what the proper way was to pick her up. She is very active and is in good shape, but I fear I might be causing too much stress on her body to pick her up by her ribcage.

What is the best way to pick up a cat of that age?

First of all, we are taking her to the vet. But i want to know if this could become a serious problem. So, she is a long-hair spayed female. Lately her hair has been matting around her neck and falling off. Is this just because it is matting, or could she be sick? Can this spread to my other cats? (she had her shots last year, but we just switched vets and they don't send u notices, so we may be a couple months late on her shots)

Grooming my cats is like WW3. They do anything to get away from me, biting and clawing.

Can anyone in and around Chicago watch my girlfriends two cats for a year while she is in Wonder Lake IL as an au pair? She doesn't want to part with them and I can't have cats where I am. They are two years old, siblings m/f and are fixed with all shots. We would pay all expenses you have with the cats. They are her babies and she doesn't want to leave them behind here in Switzerland.

Any and all help is appriciated!!

This isn't the automatic litter box that you plug in and rakes the clumps into a container. This one has a waste container on the side of the box that collects the waste when you manually roll it back and forth. It goes for about $30 or so.

Sounds like a great product, but I'm wondering if you have any reviews on it.

Do they see it as inhumane or should cats be declawed before a certain age? Most of the cats there are at least a year or two old. I would love to adopt one, but would prefer to be able to declaw it to keep my furniture intact. If they could be trained to not claw on the furniture, I could do that too, but can that be done? Cats seem to have an internal drive to claw on things.
