our four year old cat has had a sore front left paw for about 3 weeks now, at first he wouldnt walk on it at all, now he tries... he does not cry, or show any pain, just when he is walking, he holds it up. I have checked the bottom of his pads, and his joints of the paw, and can't tell where it is bothering him. Not sure if we need to take him into the vet or not. He was declawed in the front paws as a kitten..has had no problems until now. He does try to still scratch at things with his two front paws as if there is no problem.... should we take him in?

do you think his paw is broken or maybe you should take it to your closest vet to see if anything is wrong with it

I had a little girl cat called Chloe and it was always a gentle little laugh to see her sucking her left pad while treading with her right paw, right up till she died at the age of 17. She had been rejected while too young to leave her Mum. As for the chewing, it definitely sounds as though something is irritating her quite badly. It could be something simple like healing places from the last bites (and we all know how almost irresistable it is to pick scabs when they itch). Ask your Vet when she goes for her next check up or injections.

cats tend to be stoic little animals, if your cat is experiencing pain or holding his paw up, I would definitely schedule a vet visit.

well you should check his nails for any long nails that might be poking his paw when he steps. That happened to my cat!
