There are a couple of other issues that might be at play. Has his water intake increased? Is he urinating more than before? Your cat sounds like he might have neuropathy. This is a condition of reversable nerve damage that is associated with diabetes that has not been treated (or successfully regulated with treatment).
Please take him to the vet and have his blood sugar checked. Your cat might be a diabetic.
(If he is, do not panic. This is not a death sentence ...it is very treatable)

This sounds quite worrying, I would consult a vet for advice. It may have an illness or maybe eaten something poisonous. I'm no expert though. Keep him warm and comfortable until you can seek advice. Observe his eating and toilet habits to see if these have changed and so can inform the vet. Yvonne x

Take it to the vet, today. It could be a lot of things. It's serious if it's affecting him that way. It could be anything from a flea infestation that could be taken care of easily but could kill him if not looked after. Or it could be something more serious. Either way he won't get better magically.

then something is wrong. Take him to the vet... he could have something as inocuous as a pinched nerve that a little massage therapy will fix. Or it could be something else... take the cat to the vet.

It depends how old he is, if he's really old that's why, but if your really worried take him to the vets, but it's probably not that serious.

Call your veterinarian. This sounds very unusual. You have good reason to be worried.
