I will be moving from SC to NV in a couple weeks and I am taking my 5 year old cat with me. I have already bought her a kennel and food for the trip. I originally planned to drive to NV with her in the backseat; however, I now have to ride in the moving van. It is a 3 day drive, and we will not be stopping at night so that we can get there as quickly as possible. Because of this, I will be forced to keep her in the kennel for most of the drive. I plan to get some sedatives and Rescue Remedy for her, but I am still unsure about how to work out her litterbox. I know that cats won't just hop out the car and go potty like dogs will at rest stops. I am unsure about her food and water situation - should I feed and water her every couple of hours or only twice a day. The kennel I bought for her is a small kennel - it isn't all that big because it will have to sit on the seat between myself and the driver. Does anyone have any advice, preferably people who have actually travelled with a cat?

She is five years old, and just a standard British moggy. Her behaviour is usual, and other than this, she is in good health. What should I do?

She had gone outside for a while before all this began to happen. I live in Kenya at the moment, so maybe she was just bitten by ants or something like that. However, that clue may be a red herring. If you have a much wiser guess, please get back to me. At the moment I'm a bit stressed out over this, so please . . . no funny answers. Thanks.

My little brother brought home a stray kitten last year; The kitten was completly normal for about 6 months and it started growing real fast; it is just a little over a year old and is larger than my other grown cats. Now here is the odd part it is a female long hair and black in color except around its neck; it has like a mane that has turned gray and it is large (the mane that is) the mane looks like a lions mane. I am over 50 years old and been around cats all my life and have never seen anything like her. Any help Identifing what type she may be will be greatly appreciated.

If it's not normal, does anyone have any suggestions? She's been sneezing since we first got her, and now she's started twitching. Is she okay?

My cat recently miscarried and ate the remains. Yet she is treating us like we have replaced her litter. She follows us everywhere and cries when the family is not all in the same room as her. She exposes her belly and wants us to knead her. Now she sleeps between my husband and i UNDER the covers. She mews, trills, and purrs at us all day and calls to us if we are near her. I dont know what to do. We can't even make a noise without her running to see if we needed anything. Although this is really sweet and out of character for her, I don't know how much more I can take. It worries me and breaks my heart that her real babies didn't make it. Should we play along with her? and if so how long will this last? I don't even know if this is normal.

I noticed this in my cat Spook (10 yrs.) at around 7pm today. His tail is always up but now his tail is limp. He growled at me when I was checking his tail, but showed to signs of pain around his tail, except around the base. So I told my mom, and she checked him too. He growled also.

So later (around 10pm) my mom and I were going upstairs and Spook followed as usual. But he was very slow up the stairs (he's usually quite fast), and was taking one step at a time and meowing & growling the entire time. He meows and almost "squeaks" when we pick him up to check his tummy for something.

So, we put him on the bed, and my mom started to feel around to see if she could feel any tumors and such. She said that his left rear leg fells differant than the other, and he does try to roll away when we feel that leg.

& for the past 5 months I've noticed smelling leakage from his anus every now and then when he's picked up. We also have one other cat. What's goingon with Spook?

Both my cats talk. My oldest you can hear a distinct resounding "no" and "yes" when we talk to her and ask questions "Want to go outside?" "no" or she respond "yes" if she wants to go outside. The youngest speaks the most, she will say "no" as well as "Come here" (when she can't find me) and "What" when she whines. My husband will get into arguments with the youngest going back and forth with the word "What", it’s hilarious. =)

I'm curious if anyone else's cats speak and what they say?

I have what I think is a fisher cat terrorizzing me. I will be out at night smokin a cig on the deck and I hear what sounds like a coyote getting a hot soldering iron stuffed in his eye socket. I mean I am used of close encounters with wildlife and for the most part they don't want to bother me any more than I want to bother them. It is like this little prick is stalking me. You could be just sitting outside at night and all the sudden you hear this god awful shrilling call, howl, whatever the hell it is. And it is usually within 30 or 40 feet. You can't hear them coming through the woods like a coyote, you can hear them coming a half mile away. I am told these are violent little bastards and I wish to exterminate him or them immediately.

he still humps. He never did this before he got fixed, but all of a sudden the last week or so its been more frequent. He does the little "playing piano" or "kneading dough" thing on the nearest blanket or pillow. Then gets a funny look in his eyes and proceeds to mount my arm, or my boyfriends arm. He doesnt make the humping motion, but he get a *****. When I try to shoo him off or push him off he gets violent and tries to bite. I dont know what to do, if its normal, or how to fix it. Help!

I have a male cat who just turned one year old. He hasn't been neutered, and he keeps spraying all over the place. Also, sometimes he would try to get out of the house to look for other females.

Is it alright to neuter a one year old male cat? Is it safe?

if we limit food she will steal from my other cat (who is normal weight.) So does anyone have any tips to help her lose weight without limiting the food, so both cats can eat.
