My cat recently miscarried and ate the remains. Yet she is treating us like we have replaced her litter. She follows us everywhere and cries when the family is not all in the same room as her. She exposes her belly and wants us to knead her. Now she sleeps between my husband and i UNDER the covers. She mews, trills, and purrs at us all day and calls to us if we are near her. I dont know what to do. We can't even make a noise without her running to see if we needed anything. Although this is really sweet and out of character for her, I don't know how much more I can take. It worries me and breaks my heart that her real babies didn't make it. Should we play along with her? and if so how long will this last? I don't even know if this is normal.

i don't think it's so much she thinks u are her kittens....i think she's really upset about the lose of her kittens and she probably gets scared that she will loose u 2...b/c u r her family. I would play along with it for a little bit longer. She needs the comfort...animals has feels just like us and they have a sense of loose and family. Imagine if u lost your baby? Would u want someone to be mean to u or would u want some comfort until u got over the loose...or at least until the lose doesn't hurt as bad anymore.

shop her in! she gets pregnant lower back, even mutually as she's nursing her present day muddle. Or she would desire to fulfill with injury, and not come lower back, leaving you with an orphan muddle to shelter. call your vet right this moment, and make a spay appointment for 8 weeks from now, while the kittens are weaned. Vets can get subsidized up this time of year with all the kittens being born and cats wanting spays, and this manner you have gotten all of it waiting for her once you're waiting.

I agree with one of the other responders, I think she should be spayed as soon as possible so that she doesn't have to go through this type of trauma again. The behaviours that you are describing are normal for an animal that has lost a litter. Give her time and be extra gentle with her and I think you'll find in time that she will go back to her old self. And again, please get her spayed.

I agree with the others. Have this kitty spayed some day soon. It will not only benefit her health wise. You will know that she will never get pregnant as well. As far as her behavior, that is normal for a new mommy to do. She will soon be out of it and will be back to her old self.

Hope this helps!

I think it would cheer her up if you could adopt a kitten from the animal shelter. I don't know what would cause a cat to miscarry, but you might consider getting her fixed so she won't have to go through that again.
