do you have any neosporin or any generic brand of triple anti-biotic ointment that you use for your own cuts and scratches? use this on your cats eye after cleaning it. it is the exact same ingredients with the exact amounts as the eye ointment the vet will give you anyway, the only difference is an added pain reliever, when my kitten had and eye infection, i used the ointment my vet sent me, but then it went into secondary glaucoma and the eye swelled....when i looked it up and learned that it caused her to have migraine like pain, i switched to neosporin for the added pain relief (with my vets approval) it helped her until her vet appointment to remove the eye.

I have 4 male cats, and every now and then they get a slight eye infection. Either from dust, playtime or litter.
I wipe the eye with a warm washcloth, 2 -3 times a day depending on severity of the infection. and then during the day, i get enough warm water on a clean cloth so that it drips when you squeeze it, and i get a few drops of nice clean water in the eye directly. (i find this to be the most effective way for healing) And usually within 3-4 days of that, the infection or bother is gone.
Hope this helps.

Take a warm moist cotton ball and wipe the eye out, my vet even suggested putting a warm wash cloth on the eye for a few minutes at a time. Do this several times a day. Your kitten has pink eye more then likely and make sure to wash your hands after cleaning her eye it is contageous.

Try using a saline solution. In a cup of LUKE WARM, not HOT water add a couple of shakes of table salt and mix. Use a cotton ball in the salt water to wash his eye a couple of times a day. But I would get him to the vet, pronto, before any damage is done to his sight.

whenever gunk appears in my cats' eyes (from dust or everyday irritants), I just wipe the eyes very generously with cotton balls soaked in warm water with a pinch of ordinary salt dissolved in it. Next day or even sooner - no more gunk. But you say its been 3 days... so, I suspect that your kitty may have upper respiratory infection.

Try rinsing his/her eye out with saline solution, the same kind you would use for contacts. Make sure you get the kind for sensitive eyes. I had this same problem with my cat and the vet told me to use this to cleanse my cat's eye.

I've heard that dipping a rag in cooled down coffee and rubbing the green goo out with it will kill the infection. In cats and dogs. Good luck.
