LOL, too funny. Mine hasn't yet, but that's why I love her.

Well, I think that depends on the cat! Honestly I've been waiting for this for a long time. My cat is 12 years old and 30 pounds and he STILL Bounces off the walls and chases imaginary things. Or anything else for that matter. In fact- Yesterday, he ran down the hallway climbed up the back of my pants-(claws digging into skin-ouch ouch ouch) lept off my shoulder and bounced onto the couch! So that leads me to belive some cats are just plain wild all the time!

I guess this is your first cat. You really don't want a cat to "chill out", you want them to be active as long as possible. They really don't start to get really lazy until about 4 or 5 years old, and even then they will have spurts of great energy. My 16 year old cat still runs around the house like a crazy loon right after she has eaten or when she is given a new toy. It's good for them, they need to get the spurts of energy to work off the food. In all reality a cat sleeps about 22 hours a day.

Most if not all cats calm down a bit after they are fixed. Then they calm down a bit more after the age of two or three. This is becuase by then, they get enough experience that sometimes bouncing off the walls can hurt or get their human stressed out (hee hee hee). But "calm down" does not at all mean that they cease to play... all cats will play, run and be active no matter how old they are as long as their health will permit it and as long as they are not the odd naturally lazy kitty. If you keep the weight down, your kitty will keep playing way into his teens, but he'll be doing it with a lot more cat sense and savvy. In other words, he wont be knocking over your expensive vases and table ornaments.

Depends on the breed and on the individual cat. I had a Himalayan that was chill from day 1 (8 weeks old)--like, to the point that we had to check to make sure he was still alive. I had another cat that bounced off the walls for 12 years. My current cats are 2 and 5 years old...the 5-year-old (tabby) is definitely chill (and has been since I adopted her when she was 2), but the two-year-olds (orange tabby and his grey sister) still have bouts of insanity on a daily basis. Neutering tends to mellow cats out, fyi.

buy a plant called an AJUGA (think thats how its spelled. the leaves will make your cat sleepy. found out the hard way. bought one becaue I like the look of it. then noticed the cats was sleeping all the time and acted drunk. then noticed the leaves on the plant.
but about 5 years cats tends to calm down. but not all cats will be like this. some like said above will be bouncing off the walls till the end.

He is still young, They usually act like kittens for a couple of years but start acting older and aging about 4 years old. They will act lively for a while though and it's healthy.

Honestly it depends on the cats personality. However it is true that when you have your feline fixed it can calm them down. Some cats are just plain playful and silly!

My cat is still acting up and she's about 8 yrs.old. I think when they are too old to move and play then they have no choice but to lay around and get fat.
