Don't feed it scraps, or sweets. Just clean water for a day, then cat food. It will be fine.

Dependant on the medication most cats recover once they are home in about 48 to 72 hours dependant on the severity of the Gastro enteritus attack, ie the cause etc, make sure it gets plenty of clean water and soft easy food not too rich in gravy one of the rice based foods is quite good, plain and nutritious and within a day or two your cat should be feeling fine and frisky again

Sometimes as long as six weeks. Even when going to the vet. Depending upon the type of proble causing the illness. If the illness has been treated with Flagel of Albon in can take six weeks and the litter box needs to be emptyied daily and kept extremely clean. If it is another problem and they have been put on a special diet then the diet should slowly help them. Just be patient but let the vet know if it is not clearing up. you can give them a small spoon of plain yogurt once in awhile.Good luck
