Can anyone in and around Chicago watch my girlfriends two cats for a year while she is in Wonder Lake IL as an au pair? She doesn't want to part with them and I can't have cats where I am. They are two years old, siblings m/f and are fixed with all shots. We would pay all expenses you have with the cats. They are her babies and she doesn't want to leave them behind here in Switzerland.

Any and all help is appriciated!!

First of all, you need to check to see exactly what your girlfriend will need to do to bring the cats with her from overseas. Different countries have different rules concerning the quarrantine of animals when transporting them from one country to another.

Secondly, get online and find the names of reputable no-kill shelters in the Chicago area and then contact them telling them about your girlfriend's problem. Many people that work for or volunteer for these types of animal shelters are willing to offer foster care for animals; perhaps they would be willing to do the same for your girlfriend's cats. That way you could be assured that her cats would be in a safe, kind and loving home while she's working.

Good luck!

They have pet sitters or boarding kennels. Make sure you trust and feel comfortable, you know if anything happened to her babies you'll never hear the end of it. And it might be the end of your relationship as well. Good Luck

wow, I wish I could, but you may have to give them away, cats shouldnt be seperated for that long, she can always find new cats, However she may have to decide on the job or her cats.
