Yes, take her to the vet and have it checked out. It may simply be a sebaceous cyst, which isn't cancerous. (My older kitty has one of these on the back of her neck.) Or it may be something more serious like cancer. Cats, like people, are more likely to develop cancer as they grow older. On the good side, however, if you catch the cancer early, cats--just like people--can have the cancer removed and be just fine. My other older kitty had a cancerous tumor on his ear this past year, but we had it removed and he's doing great. So take your kitty to the vet as soon as possible.

It looks to me like this baby has either ear mites or some other pest. Please, do your cat a favor and do not get the ear drops. The vet has a flea medicine that goes on the back of the cats neck. You only put it on once a month. I takes care of worms, mites, fleas, etc. It is called Revolution. You will need to weigh your cat first. Just pick her up and get on your scale. Write the weight down, then weight yourself and subtract the difference. There are different doses for different weights. Those ear drops do not always work, but I have never had Revolution fail me yet. You have to treat twice. Once now and once again in 30 days. Make sure you keep track of the time, because you want to be exact. Just buy two doses from the vet, They should not have to see the cat to sell them to you. Doses run about $15 a piece.

Hiya
Yeah take your cat to the vet. MY cat is a similar age... she had the same thing. We took her to the vet as its always best to get it checked. Hers turned out to be a absess caused from a cat bite.
They had to drain it and gave her a small op to get rid of it as it was apprantly pretty nasty. Although at the time she seemed happy and didnt seem bothered by it.
It may be nothing but you dont know n you have to be so careful with lumps its best to get it checked all the same.
I hope shes all better soon

Yes a I reccomend a vet! How do you know for SURE its not bothering her? Just because she's not crying out doesnt mean it doesnt hurt. I had a cat ewho was 16 or so and she had some problems we didnt kno about until we took her to the vet! She couldnt walk (they think she had a storke) so we put her down. I know this doenst go eith your question but I'm saying you dont know whats rong with your cat until shes checked out! GOOD LUCK! hope shes ok!!!

Your cat is old so she is going to get weird things like growths etc. But I would take her to a vet it could be a tick bite, all growths should be checked. And if it's not serious you won't have to worry anymore. Your cat should be checked every year to make sure she's in good health especially older cats. Good luck to your cat and you.

Wheree is the bump at? If it is in a strange place, by all means, take the cat to a vet.

I would ask your vet about the bump. Considering it is new....and the cat is older. It could just be a build up of enzymes.....or it could be something more serious. Just because it isn't bothering her doesn't mean it isn't effecting her!

It would be best to take her to a vet to have it checked out. Better to be safe than sorry. It could be nothing, or she could have a cyst or something.
