He's 6 weeks old, and very hyper. I love to play with him but sometimes he takes it to the extreme and starts biting very hard and won't let go. I don't want to punish him physically but I want a way to send the message that he doesnt need to bite.

I have three indoor cats that usually get along well. Now that the weather is warming up, I'm letting them outdoors for supervised play. One of the girls, whenever she goes outside, starts hissing and growling at the other two. She lets me pick her up, so the aggression is not directed at me at all, but it's unlike her to be so aggressive to the other two. Anyone have any ideas how I can get her to calm down? This didn't happen last year when I let them all outside.

I want to take my cat away with me for a weekend to my parent's place in the country. They originally found her there as a stray and she lived there for 3 months before coming to live with me. I've had her for 3 months at my house. Will she remember their house and be ok? Will she remember their dog (they became good friends)? Or will it be stressful and confusing for her? She won't be allowed outside. Thanks

My cat had her yearly vaccinations and the blood work came back low white blood cell count. She's an INDOOR cat, always up to date on her shots, and has never been sick. My vet did blood work to check for leukemia, which came back negative. She has absolutely NO symptoms, hasn't lost any weight, and eats & drinks fine. She's 8 yrs old & spayed. After the first bloodwork, my vet put her on clavamox for 10 days which raised the count, but now that she's off clavamox, the count has fallen. Any info. or input?

I just got my cat neutered yesterday and he seems to still have blood coming from his scrotom. Its not alot just a drip here and there, the insicion came open yesterday after I brought him home and I took him to the vet. After about 20 mins the vet came out and said he should be fine because he put a type of gel inside him to help stop the bleeding. But then when I brought him home right after and it opened up again. So I took him back and they said they would keep him over night.I picked him up today and it seems to still have a small amount of blood still coming from the incision. Is this normal for small drops of blood to still be coming out of him?I am worried and thinking if he keeps bleeding later tonight I am going to take him to another vet to have him checked out.

I am wondering if 2 is too young to get a cat? My daughter has started asking about a kitty cat, so we took her to the pound to look at them. Now she says that she needs one. She has never been around one and she seems to be gentle with one that we like (she is 3) but each time the kitty wants to rub her, she(my daughter) gets a little nervous and pulls away. Will she get better or should we wait a few years? I don't want to get one and have to take it back..it is a no kill shelter but that is kinda mean.

My cat likes to run underfoot sometimes and a few times he's had his poor paws stepped on or taken a foot to the head, all quite accidental! He's never seemed worse for the wear, but while grooming him recently I noticed that his left canine tooth's tip has been broken off (it's not much, only a few millimetres at most) but I can see the difference when I look at both of them. He doesn't seem to have any other problems and his teeth look fine otherwise. I don't even know if the tip was broken by accidental contact or if it happened some other way. Any ideas?

I have a 7 year old female cat. She is inbred(she was a runt rescue) so she isn't the brightest crayon in the box. She is not retarded, just not as intelligent as other cats. 5 Months ago, I rescued ANOTHER female cat, who is currently about 10 months old. I had read other posts saying that they would begin to get along after 3 or 4 weeks, but FIVE MONTHS has passed and they still aren not buddy-buddy yet. Whenever the younger cat approaches the older cat, the older cat hisses, swats at the younger one, and runs off. If they are within 5 feet of each other, one will run off. They do occassionally play together, but it seems more viscious than normal. How long could this whole getting along process take?! Are there any tips to help my cats get along together? I got the younger cat to be the older's companion, but it doesn't seem to be working that way! HELP!

*sobbing* ok my cat is an outdoor cat and if u live in new york in a certain area which i'm not telling u there was recently 2 snow storms (and just to give u a hint it's not upper state new york!) and since the first one.....the last tiem i saw my cat was b4 that snow storm hit.......and the reason y i'm sobbing is because..........my cat has been missing since b4 that first snow storm hit.....*more crying* i miss her i don't no wat to do i have went to the animal shelters and no one has taken in a white cat so she's nto there plus i put lost signs all around town. i have been crying myself to sleep every night since she disappeared. and i was just thinking last night that she might of went off to die. the same thing with my otehr cat, leo, happened he was so old he went off to die. some cats do that for some reason. my cat had a kidney problem i'm not sure if it was bad though...*more crys*....i'm just really upset that she might of died during the snow storm or the kidney problem..

hi well scruff the stray has been to the vets he has a few bald patchs, he has been very well combed so he has no more matted fur and looks lovely, he also feels a lot better, he has been washing tonight first time ive seen him wash since he started moving himself in, to get to the point i want him to stay nice and matt free, my cats have a flea comb and an ordinary cat brush, his fur is long and thick what would you recomend to keep his coat in the best condition.

Often times I see my cat looking beyond me as if he is following something with his eyes. When I turn, nothing is there. Can cats see spirits/ghosts/dead people?

I adopted a cat from a shelter and they said he was neutered. I have doubts due to:
1) My spayed female utterly hates him and is aggressive on sight.
2) After scuffles with the female, he has a strong cat musk scent which is occasionally left as a drop or two on the floor in a very thick clear liquid.
3) He wrestles with my neutered male in a very rough & tumble way. Not aggressive, just that very rough is normal to him.
4) I noticed later on that the adoption papers indicate he is a shorthair with a short tail although it has always been obvious to be a longhair with long tail, he definitely has some maine coon in his line somewhere.

I think the shelter mixed up their cats. How can I tell if he's been neutered? Going to the vet will cost $35 for the answer, I'd like to avoid that if there is an easier way. Thanx in advance!
